CSIR UGC NET 2019 Eligibility

Candidates must check CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form. If found ineligible, their candidature will be canceled with immediate effect. 

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have a M.Sc or an equivalent degree / Integrated BS-MS / BS – 4 years / BE / B. Tech / B. Pharma / MBBS.
  • For General/ EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, a minimum of 55% marks and for SC/ ST/ physically and visually handicapped candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required in this degree.
  • Those enrolled for M.Sc or those who have completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or candidates enrolled in the Integrated MS-PhD program can apply as well.
  • Such applicants need a minimum of 55% marks (for general and OBC-NCL) and 50% marks for SC / ST, physically and visually handicapped candidates.
  • Those with a bachelor’s degree must be registered/enrolled for Ph.D./ Integrated Ph.D. program to be eligible for CSIR.
  • Ph.D. degree holders, who have passed Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, with minimum 50% marks, are eligible to apply for the only Lectureship.

Age Limit and Relaxation

  1. For Junior Research Fellowship: Candidates should not have attained 28 years of age as on July 1, 2019.
  2. Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professorship.
  3. The upper age limit can be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ ST/ Physically or Visually handicapped and female candidates and 3 years for OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates

How to Apply for CSIR UGC NET 2019?

The step by step instructions to apply online for CSIR UGC NET 2019 are explained below:

  1. Visit the CSIR website, csirnet.nta.nic.in to apply for the exam  
  2. Click on ‘Apply Online’ at the bottom of the page.
  3. The Application form will appear on-screen
  4. Enter all requisite details in the application form.
  5. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature and other documents, as mentioned on the form.
  6. Verify all information before the final submission of the form. No changes will be allowed after the final submission.
  7. A system generated Application Number will be assigned to you after submitting the form.
  8. Make the payment for Application Fee.
  9. Take a printout of the filled-in Application Form for future reference.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2019

Answer keys for Joint CSIR-UGC NET Exam 2019 will be released at the official website- csirnet.nta.nic.in in the month of December 2019.

  • Candidates can download the answer key and may contact the authorities in case of any discrepancies raised.
  • Candidates can submit their representation against the answer key in respect of all the subjects.
  • Representation(s) must be sent through email only. Any representation submitted by post or in person will not be entertained.
  • The representation must have documentary/textual support.
  • Any representation received after the specified time will not be accepted.

CSIR NET Result 2019

CSIR UGC NET Result will be released on December 31, 2019, at the official website. Successful candidates’ fellowship will be effective from July 1, 2020. The result will be published in a PDF format consisting of the roll number of successfully qualified candidates of JRF NET December 2019.

  • Visit the CSIR website and click on the link pertaining to the relevant exam.
  • Enter your roll number, date of birth and security code.
  • Click on the “Submit” button.
  • View the result and take multiple printouts for future use.

CSIR UGC NET Merit List

  • Two separate merit lists will be made for candidates qualifying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF-NET) and Lectureship (LS-NET).
  • The merit list will specify details such as Roll Number of the candidate, Rank obtained and Marks secured.
  • The preparation of the merit list will be on the basis of performance of candidates in the entrance test.
  • Candidates qualifying for JRF will also be eligible for lectureship if they fulfill eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates qualifying for Lectureship will be eligible to be considered for recruitment as Junior Research Fellowship if suitable. Though they will not be eligible for regular JRF-NET Fellowship.
  • Candidates qualifying for JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their associated assignment.

CSIR NET Cutoff 2019
