The Region has immense historical significance as it forms the part of the Vijayanagara Empire ruled by majestic king Sri Krishnadevaraya, among others.

The Admission of Central University Of Andhra Pradesh, Anantapur is based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is a national level test which is conducted every year in the month of May-June.
