CMS College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore was established by the CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, a non-profit organisation in the year 1988. It is also known as CMS College. In the year 2007, the college received the accolade of autonomy. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi and is recognised by the University Grants Commission. The college was ranked 82 in the college category by the NIRF in the year 2020. OUR FOUNDER
Vivekananda College was established in 1971 by Swamiji Chidhbhavanandhaj. Vivekananda College is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as an ‘A’ Grade college. Also, the college is recognised as a “College with Potential for Excellence” by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The college is affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University. Vivekananda College follows the gurukula pattern and is a boy’s only college. The college aims to teach spiritual, ethical, moral and social values to the students and to maintain higher standards of education at Vivekananda College.
The campus is spread across 40 acres of land and provides different facilities to the students and faculty members of Vivekananda College. The classrooms are spacious and well-equipped with modern facilities. The infrastructure of Vivekananda College includes a community health care centre, computer laboratories, fields and courts for different sports and many more. The college provides banking, hostel and gym facilities to the students, faculty and staff members. Vivekananda College offers courses in all streams- Arts, Commerce and Science at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
