Vignan’s Foundation for Science Technology and Research (VFSTR) is a deemed to be university established in the year 2008. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). With a CPGA of 3.2, NAAC has accredited Vignan University with an ‘A’ grade. The university has grabbed 111 rank in engineering category of NIRF Ranking 2021. It moved up 7 position as it was ranked 118 in NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020. In the university category of NIRF ranking 2021, the varsity has secured 97th position. The campus of the university is spread over an area of 43 acres and it has a total of 487 faculty members. As per the official website, the mission of VFSTR is to provide high quality academic programmes, training activities and research facilities to students.

It offers a total of 67 courses at UG, PG and doctoral level. Five programmes – B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Electrical & Electronics Engineering, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.Tech Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the National Body of Accreditation (NBA). The university provides admission to various programmes on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in national and state level entrance exams like JEE Main, EAMCET, APECET, GATE, AP PGECET etc.

Vignan’s Foundation for Science Technology and Research has a placement cell to facilitate placements to students. The university also provides multiple scholarships to students. It also offers foriegn exchange programmes to students as it has collaborations with numerous overseas universities. The minimum eligibility criteria for M.Tech is BE/ B.Tech in the relevant discipline. Graduation in any discipline is the minimum eligibility criteria for MBA while for MCA, the candidates must have studied Mathematics as one of the main subjects at 10+2 or Bachelor’s level.

Vignan University Ph.D. Admission 2022

Vignan University offers a Ph.D. program in full-time, part-time and external modes in various disciplines. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria. Selection is made on the basis of academic performance (20% weightage for UG degree and 30% for PG), previous experience (5% weightage), Publications (5% weightage) and written test and interview with 15% and 25% weightage respectively.

Boys Hostel

The varsity has a boys hostel with AC deluxe, AC and non AC rooms. The hostel has wifi for students. Furthermore, indoor games facilities and a gym are available at the hostel campus. Separate hostel is there for international students.
Girls Hostel

A separate hostel for girls students is there at the campus. The girls hostel of Vignan’s Foundation for Science Technology and Research has AC deluxe, AC and non AC rooms. Students are provided with modern facilities at the girls hostel.
Gym

The campus of the varsity has a gym with the latest and modern equipment. Students can use the gym as per convenience.
Library

The library of the university is spread over an area of 3000 square meters. It has a large number of books, journals, reference books etc. A digital section with e-books and e-journals is also available at the library.
Sports

Vignan University has playgrounds for cricket, football, volleyball, basketball and badminton. An athletic track and walking track are also available at the campus. Various sports events are conducted at the varsity under the guidance of professional coaches.
Auditorium

A well maintained and modern auditorium is there at the campus. All the events and seminars are held at the auditorium.
Medical/Hospital

The university has a medical centre to provide basic first aid facilities to students, staff and faculty members.
