IIT Indore Admissions

The admission to the institute is done through national level examinations such as JEE Advanced for UG courses and GATE for PG courses. To take admission to Ph.D., the candidate must be qualified in UGC NET/ CSIR NET.

Library:

The Library has a collection of 35583+ books at present. These include books on all relevant subjects for teaching, reference and research in addition to fiction, literature and general interest books to take care of the leisure and recreational reading needs of users. Hostel:

The hostels at IITI are probably the best any student pursuing studies in India could wish for. IIT Indore JEE Advanced Cutoff

IIT Indore offers a B.Tech. degree in a total of 5 different departments. Admission to these programs is done through the IIT JEE-Advanced examination which is conducted in the month of May every year.

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) controls the entire admission procedure. A total of 7 rounds of admissions and counseling take place each year.

The cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks. It is further divided into categories and each category is further divided on the basis of gender. Usually, students with an All India Rank below 1000 get admission into CSE at IIT Indore.

Not only nationally, IIT Indore has been ranked higher than the other top IITs like IIT Madras and IIT Bombay in Times Higher Education Rankings. The indore institute has made its remarkable appearance in QS Asian University Rankings too.

IIT Indore couldn’t find a place in the rankings released by ranking agencies during the initial years after its establishment. But since the last few years it has worked well on improving its rankings. This improvement of IIT Indore has been majorly credited to its experienced faculty, excellent placements and good infrastructure.

IIT Indore Ranking - NIRF

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.

“IIT Indore has maintained its position in the top 20 engineering colleges in India in the NIRF rankings since the past 4 years, moving a place ahead with every passing year.”

IIT Indore has consistently been improving it’s NIRF with each passing year. The improvement in rankings is a manifestation of the fact that IIT Indore is one of the best engineering colleges in India. This speaks volumes about the efforts the IIT Indore administration, faculty and students have been putting in.

IIT Indore has been improving in its ratings in the several parameters that NIRF takes into account while assigning ranks to colleges. A Core Committee set up by MHRD draws conclusions from the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover: teaching, learning and resources; research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and perception.

IIT Indore Ranking - Outlook ICARE

Rather than blindly comparing institutions against one another, Outlook-ICARE India University Rankings 2019 is a fair assessment based on how institutions within the same category perform against each other in a variety of metrics, thus reflecting the strengths and weaknesses of a institution in each domain.

“IITI is the 8th best engineering Institute in the country and 12th best Indian University in general, as per Outlook-ICARE Reports.”

The Rankings evaluate institutions based on parameters such as Faculty Student Ratio (FSR), Faculty with Ph.D. (FWP), Papers Per Faculty (PPF), Citations Per Paper (CPP) and Inclusiveness & Diversity (ID). Institutions are awarded an overall rank depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation, and their key strengths in specific parameters are displayed. This has been designed with valuable feedback from the industry.

IIT Indore Ranking - QS Ranking (Asia)

“IIT Indore has been ranked at 188th position among Top 250 Universities of Asia”.

IIT Bombay is leading nationally in the QS Asian University Rankings at 34th place, followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Madras at 43rd and 50th position respectively. India has 31 institutes among the top 250 Asian Universities. Of these, 18 dropped compared to last year, 12 gained ground and one remained stable.

The list is topped by the National University of Singapore followed by Nanyang Technological University, which has risen from 3rd to 2nd; and the University of Hong Kong.

QS rankings, like outlook and NIRF rankings, are based on various parameters which are listed below with the score of IIT Indore.

QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). Subsequently, QS also launched a separate ranking list for Asian universities and for BRICS nations called QS Asian University Ranking and QS BRICS Ranking respectively.

IIT Indore Ranking - Times Higher Education

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.

“IIT Indore pips older peers to feature in top 50 Asia University Rankings”, read the headline of an article by Business Standard.

“IIT Indore was ranked above older IITs – IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee in the latest Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings.”

The ranking parameters that Jagran Josh uses are not defined clearly but they are based on factual and perception-based data. It is one of the most authentic sources in India when it comes to educational and career-based information.

“IIT Indore made its debut appearance in the Jagran Josh’s top 10 engineering college rankings in 2019 at 9th position after being out of it for the previous years.”
