Gopalan College of Engineering and Management (GCEM) was established in the year 2010, started by the Gopalan Foundation, which is part of the renowned Gopalan Group. The Gopalan Group was founded in 1984 by Mr. C.Gopalan, an architect, to develop and construct residential apartments in Bangalore. The company has developed some of the finest homes in Bangalore and has the enviable record of having completed all its projects on time. The Group is engaged in the promotion of Residential, Commercial, Shopping Malls, Townships, Special Economic Zones, Software Technology Parks, Biotech Parks, Organic Farms, Educational Institutions, Export of Culinary, Medical Herbs, Star Hotels, Hospitals, etc.
Gopalan College of Engineering and Management is Accredited by NAAC, NewDelhi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. GCEM is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution. Initially, GCEM started with four undergraduate programs with an annual intake of 240. The college is located in Hoodi with a campus area of about 7.17 acres. At present, the Institute has an annual intake of 300 students for undergraduate programs in 5 disciplines. Besides, the Institute has set up Research Centers in 5 departments to promote research activities

GCEM Bangalore offers B.E. in 4 streams. The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for B.E. is to have a score of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. The candidate must have studied and passed English as one of the core subjects.
