The university was established in 1993 by their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram is also known as SCSVMV University. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya is located at Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. It is a Deemed to be University. The university was established under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust. SCSVMV University is spread over 50 acres of land. The SCSVMV University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). SCSVMV University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). ERA Uni-Gauge Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 180 MCQs (60 each for Physics and Mathematics) for the duration of three hours. Students have to answer the questions in English. One-marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

The university provides non-technical UG courses along with specializations in various courses. BA/BBA/B.Com/B.Sc are of 3 years duration whereas B.Ed is of 2 years and BAMS is of 5.5 years. Boys Hostel

The SCSVMV University library was established in 1995 and is located in the Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Diamond Jubilee Mahal. The library is spread across an area of 4640 square metres and is divided into three levels, provides an excellent environment for meditation and research. Through lending, the library helps to support teaching, learning, and research. There are approximately 163933 books, current periodicals, and an expanding range of electronic services, including over 3000 CD ROMS, available for reference and enquiry. The library dedicates a worthy collection of books to the IT World and subscribes to over 224 specialised national and international journals.
There are separate facilities available in the library for students such as Web OPAC, National Digital Library (NDL), e-PG Pathashala, Consortium for educational communication, Public Library of Science (PLOS), AICTE suggested books for UG and PG courses, e-journals subscribed, e-books and open-source journals.

Alumni Associations

Alumni association was established on 06-05-2009 and first Alumni meet was held on the same date. Eighty eight students of both 2007-08 and 2008-09 batches attended the alumni meet. The meeting was commenced at 10.00 AM and was lasted up to 3.30PM. Office bearers for the alumni association were elected in the meeting and the by-laws of the association were finalized. It is decided that the alumni should meet at least once in a year in the Multi-purpose Hall of the School of Education. In the inaugural session Prof.K.V.S.N.Murty, Head School of Education, Sri.V.Swamynathan, Placement coordinator of the university, Dr.K.Ramakrishna Reddy, Librarian, Prof.K.Srinivasu, HOD, ECE spoke on the occasion. We can proudly say that the SOE is the first department in the whole university to start the alumni association

SCSVMV University facilities and infrastructure include a bank. On the university campus, Indian Bank has a full-fledged branch at Enathur. All major nationalised banks have branches in Kanchipuram town (approximately 5 kilometres from Enathur), and ATM services are also available.
