Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College has earned accreditation from the NBA for various programs. It offers various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the field of Technology and Management. It is known for its B.Tech and MBA course and its lucrative placements. The median placement package for the UG course stood at INR 1.8 LPA in the year 2019. Major IT companies Accenture, Acme Tele Power Ltd, ATS Infotech, Blue Star Technologies, Data Patterns, Cognizant, Coronet Engineers Pvt. Ltd., CBL Mohali, DELL, etc have visited the campus for mass recruitment.

Admissions are offered strictly based on the JEE merit list generated by college administration for B.Tech courses. Last year's cut-off rank for general students was around 73792. The college is affiliated to Punjab University and offers over 50+ variant courses in the field of Arts, Commerce, and Science. The institute offers 20+ undergraduate degrees like BA, B.Com, and B.Voc courses as well as 20+ postgraduate courses. Selection to the M.Sc., M.Com., MCA, MBA and M.Phil courses are conducted on the basis of the CET-PG, respective Entrance Test conducted by Punjab University. Additionally, MGC also offers one year PG Diploma and Certificate courses. The college was awarded ''Star College Status'' by DBT, Government of India's Department of Science and Technology for their great academic achievement.
