Amity University, Manesar, Gurgaon, Haryana, was established in 2010 as a part of the Amity group of institutions. The Manesar campus was established as a State Private University by Act (No.10 of 2010) of the State Legislature of Haryana and is authorized to award degrees as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission of India) has approved the institute. In addition, the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Council of Architecture have also accredited Amity University. The Pharmacy program is supported by the PCI or Pharmacy Council of India. The Indian Council approves the architectural programs of Architecture. The Rehabilitation Council of India has accredited the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programs. General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa CollegeThe institute was founded in 1960 with the untiring efforts of Padam Shri Dr. Khushdeva Singh and Dr. Ganda Singh, the renowned historian who was also its first Principal.It started with a humble beginning at Gurdwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, Patiala with 5 rooms and a total strength of 35 students.It was shifted to its present premises in the year 1973 for which the foundation was laid by the then Chief Minister of Punjab in 1972The college was taken over by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar, the apex body of the Sikhs in the year 1991.The college then had around 18 classrooms and 3 Science labsSince then, the Institution has been progressing under the leadership provided by the S.G.P.C.The Institute is reputed for its state of the modern infrastructure, well stocked library, advanced technology labs, science labs, smart classrooms, well equipped gymnasium, playgrounds and complete Wi-Fi campus.
