Deva Matha College
Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad, was established on third April 1964 under the motivation of the Catholic Diocese of Palai by Major Archiepiscopal Marth Mariam Archdecon Pilgrim Church, Kuravilangad. The area, Major Archiepiscopal Marth Mariam Archdecon Pilgrim Church, Kuravilangad, has carved her name in the scholarly community of Kerala by building up two High Colleges and two L. P. Colleges in the last 50% of the eighteenth century and a Higher Secondary College in 1998. The previous President of India, Dr. K.R. Narayanan and Chevalier Dr. P. J. Thomas, an eminent Economist in India did their tutoring in these organizations. Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad is associated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, it is perceived under area 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act 1956. The incredible visionaries, H.E.Mar Sebastian Vayalil, the then Bishop of the Diocese of Palai and Rev. Fr. Paul Alappattu, the then Vicar of St. Mary's Forane Church, Kuravilangad, who initiated the establishing of the College, had in their brains the magnificent undertaking of dispersing dimness and spreading the light of genuine intelligence all round, independent of station, statement of faith, language or religion through the scattering of information and different aptitudes that would form the youthful age into commendable residents well prepared to confront the challeges of the occasions. Consistent with its vision and crucial, College today has risen as an information center point and a main focal point of scholastic greatness, teaching and changing a huge number of understudies who hail from a simply Agrarian, Rural foundation.
