Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), Delhi

Lady Shri Ram College for Women is a premier Institution for higher learning for Women in India. LSR, as it’s popularly known,  has been long known for its excellent achievements in the field of academics and is regarded as one of the finest colleges which belie in women empowerment through the medium of education.

LSR today is one of the finest educational institutions offering courses in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce along with several professional courses like Elementary Education, Journalism etc.

Affiliated to the University of Delhi and approved by UGC, LSR College has been awarded a score of 3.61 by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during the academic year 2015-16, which is the highest among Delhi University colleges so far.

India Today-Nelson Survey report suggests that LSRC sits at the top of the chart in the list of colleges offering Arts and B.El.Ed courses. In the same list, it ranks second for commerce course. Week Hansa research survey conferred the award for “TOP COLLEGE FOR ARTS” to LSR for two consecutive Academic Years.

LSR College, New Delhi was founded by Late Shri Ram in the memory of his wife, Phoolan Devi (Lady Shri Ram) in the year 1956, in Daryaganj, Central Delhi. Initially, it offered 3 courses with 243 students, 9 faculty and 4 support staffs. Presently the college provides higher education to approximately 2000 students in 16 different courses accompanied by over 150 administrative and support staffs in a well spread 15 acres campus in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi 110024 which is considered as an upscale area of South Delhi.

Functioning under the motto- “Sa vidya ya vimuktaye” i.e That Alone is Knowledge Which Liberates Us, the college strives continuously to provide quality education to young minds shaping them into critical thinkers and concerned citizens.

LSR provides a range of  Undergraduate Courses in the stream of Arts, Commerce and Science. Professional Courses like Journalism and Elementary Education are also provided in addition to the One Year Diploma Programme and Environmental Studies. Alumni list of LSR, University of Delhi consists of a long illustrious list of successful and universally recognised people who have made a name for themselves with perseverance, focus, integrity, positivity and focus-all the qualities which they successfully imbibed from the institute itself.

LSR, New Delhi provides ample jobs and internship opportunities to its students. Workshops for Personal Interviews, Group Discussions and Personality Development are conducted by the Placement Cell of LSR with the aim of equipping the students with tricks to succeed in Campus placements and Job Industry. Over 90 Companies comprising of Consultancies, Retail Media Houses, Investment Banks, NGO’s, Publishing Houses, Schools and research Organisations visits the campus for placements and internships.
