KEAM 2020 Exam Dates (Announced), Registration, Eligibility, Pattern and Syllabus

KEAM 2020 exam will be organised by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE). KEAM is a state level exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala, for admissions into the UG Engineering programs offered by various government and private colleges of the state.​ KEAM 2020 Application Form will be available from February 2020. 

 

Latest: KEAM 2020 exam date has been announced, The exam will be conducted on April 20 – ​21, 2020.

The exam was initially conducted for admission in courses of Engineering, Architecture and Medical in the colleges of Kerala. However, since 2016, KEAM Score is used only for admission into engineering courses. With NEET becoming the national level medical/dental entrance test, KEAM medical exam has been discontinued. 

  • candidates who born in Kerala will be able to avail special reservations for candidates with Disabilities/Communal/Special/Persons etc.

  • KEAM result will be published online on the official website.
  • KEAM Cut offs will be released as closing ranks for various colleges across Kerala.

KEAM 2020 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must fulfil the Eligibility Criteria set by the authorities to appear for the exam. The detailed eligibility criteria for KEAM is given below: –

  • Nationality: The candidate must be the citizen of India.
  • Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders can also apply for the examination.
  • Age Limit: To satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2020, a candidate should be of minimum of 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020. There is no upper age limit.
  • Nativity: For the purpose of admission, there is made on the distinction of three types of categories-.
  • Domicile: All candidates with the domicile of Kerala are grouped as Keralites for the eligibility purpose. Children of All India Services Officers who are posted under the cadre of Kerala will also be part of this group. In the latter case, a certificate of proof of service for parents in Kerala needs to be presented.
  • Non – Keralite 1: Candidate living in Kerala for at least 5 years in the study period of 12 years will be part of NK 1 category.
  • The children of non-Keralite parents who have studied twelfth class will also be part of this category, if either of the parents is in defense services or employee of Government of India.
  • Non – Keralite 2: All the candidates who do not belong to either of the above two categories will be part of NK 2 category. 
  • Candidates belonging to this category will have the eligibility to get admission in the engineering courses through management quota seats in self – financing colleges controlled by the Government.
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates seeking admission in engineering courses must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM subjects. It is necessary to score 50% marks in mathematics individually.
  • Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination are also eligible to apply. Provided, they must pass the examination with the above-mentioned criteria in order to be eligible to take admission through KEAM 2020.

KEAM 2020 Application Form

The last date to take a printout of online application form along with supporting documents is March 2020. Registration has to be done at cee-kerala.org. Before commencing KEAM Application Form, candidates must keep the following documents handy:

  • A vaild Email ID and Mobile Number.
  • Scanned copies of Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression (as per the insructions).
  • Class 10 mark sheet.
  • Income Certificate
  • Category Certificate

The registration process includes following steps-

Step 1: Registration – Provide email id and phone number to register for KEAM 2020.

Step 2: Filling up KEAM Application Form – After registeration, login to candidate’s account and fill in the details asked in the form. It is also mandatory to upload the scanned images of their recent photograph, signature, and thumb impression.

Step 3: Payment of Application Fee – The application fee can be paid online using Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking or offline through Demand Draft.

Step 4: Print-out of the Application Form: After paying the application fee and completing the process. Candidates must send a copy of their application forms with after completing following formalities-

  • Affix a recent photograph of self of the size- 3.5 x 4.5 cm to the application form.
  • The application form must attested by Head of the Institution or by a Gazetted Officer.
  • Affix the left-hand thumb impression of self in the provided space.
  • Get the form signed by self and parents / guardians.

KEAM Application Fee

The application fee for KEAM 2020 is given in the following table:

KEAM 2020 Admit Card

  • The admit cards for KEAM exam will be downloaded through online mode from the official website.
  • Candidates will get the admit card in the April 2020KEAM 2020 Admit Card will not be sent by post or any other mode.
  • KEAM Hall Ticket 2020 will be downloaded by entering the application number and date of birth.
  • The admit card will have information like name, roll number, exam center, exam timings and instructions to be followed.

KEAM 2020 Exam Center

  • Candidates has to make a choice of their preferred KEAM 2020 exam centre while filling the application form.
  • The exam centres of KEAM 2020 are allotted to candidates according to their preferences, only in case of emergency, there could be changes in the exam centre allotment.
  • Candidates are advised locating their allotted KEAM 2020 Exam Centres a few days before the exam. This would avoid delays in reaching the exam centre on the day of the exam.
  • Candidates are required to carry their KEAM Admit Card 2020 to their allotted exam centre.
  • Candidates are advised adhering to the instructions given to them at the exam centres like not carrying exam related material, mobile phones etc.

KEAM 2020 Exam Pattern

The KEAM Exam Pattern complete details are given below:

  • Papers: The examination will be consisting of two papers, i.e. PAPER 1 (Physics & Chemistry) & PAPER 2 (Mathematics).
  • Duration: The exam duration will be 2½ hours for each paper.
  • Mode: The examination will be organized through offline mode.
  • Type of Questions: In the examination, total 120 multiple choice questions will be asked.
  • Marks: The question paper will be of 480 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: For the correct answer, four marks will be allotted to the candidates.
  • Negative Marking: For the incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Note: Candidates applying for admission to B.Pharm Course will have to write Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) of the Engineering Entrance Examination.

KEAM 2020 Syllabus

Keam Syllabus is prescribed by the CEE Kerala. The level of the examination is of 10+2 or equivalent level exam. The detailed syllabus is listed below.

KEAM Results 2020

  • KEAM Result is published in the form of rank lists. 
  • The rank list includes Application number, Name of the candidate, Marks obtained in each subject, Normalised score, Entrance exam score and Rank.
  • KEAM rank lists for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, MBBS/BDS, Medical & Allied (except MBBS/BDS/BAMS) and Ayurveda will be published separately.
  • The results will be available on the website “cee-kerala.org” and on other websites to be notified by the CEE.

Steps to Check KEAM Results 2020

  1. Visit the official website of KEAM 2020 i.e. cee-kerala.org.
  2. Enter Roll No. and DOB/ Password and submit
  3. Check your KEAM 2020 Results and download your Rank card.

KEAM 2020 Counselling Process

The counselling process for KEAM 2020 will begin after the declaration of result. Post-release of merit list, allotment of seats in various courses and college will commence.

  • Candidates who make it to the merit list have to register for the counselling session online.
  • Candidates without internet access need to register at various facilitation centers mentioned in the information prospectus.
  • Details like the course and college preferences, have to be filled while registering for KEAM 2020 Counselling.
  • CEE will conduct subsequent counselling sessions till all the seats are filled.

Note:After the verification of documents and allotment of seats, candidates have to submit the admission fee to confirm their seats. If a candidate fails to remit fee/join the college, they will not be eligible for any further allotment in any stream.

KEAM 2020 Seat Allotment

KEAM seat allotment process will begin after June 2020 with the counselling process. The seat will be allotted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP)KEAM Allotment of Seats will depend upon the following factors:

  • Availability of seats
  • Merit list and preferences selected by the candidates out of available combinations
  • CEE Kerala will subsequently release lists of allotted seats till the total seats are filled.

Ques. Can I fill the KEAM Application form offline?

Ans. No, you can only fill the KEAM Application form online from at the CEE Kerala website before February 2020.

Ques. What is the process of filing KEAM Application Form?

Ans. First you have to register yourself at candidate’s log in page. After successful registration, upload images, fill the details in application form and make the fee payment. After completing the online application form, take the print out of KEAM Application Form and send it with the supporting documents to CEE. 

Ques. I forgot to save my Application Number at the time of registration process. What can I do?

Ans. You can get your Application Number from the official website. Click on the tab ‘Forget Application Number’ on the home page. Enter the required details like name, date of birth, password and security code. Application Number will be displayed on the screen.

Ques. How can I retrieve my logging password?

Ans. You can use the link ‘Forgot Password’ to create a new password. You will require Application Number, date of birth and email ID to create a new password.

Ques. Is it necessary to have email ID and Mobile Number?

Ans. Email ID and Mobile Number are required at the time of registration process. Once the email ID and Mobile number get registered they cannot be altered.

Ques. I am not able to upload my scanned images. What should I do?

Ans. The scanned images should be uploaded according to the prescribed specifications, the required specifications are mentioned in the following table:

Ques. How to make KEAM Application Fee payment?

Ans. Candidates can make application fee payment either through Credit Card/Debit card/ Net Banking or e-challan. The e-challan has to be paid at all the Head and sub Post Offices in Kerala or selected branches listed by CEE.

Ques. Can I change the selected course after the submission of Application Form?

Ans. No, once the form is submitted no changes are allowed in the form.

Ques. Are the Income certificates made in other states valid?

Ans. Only the competent revenue authority in Kerala alone will be accepted.

Ques. I belong to general category. Do I have to submit the income certificate?

Ans. It is necessary for the candidates who need to avail fee concession/ scholarship based on income certificate.

Ques. Village officer denied providing the Income and Community certificate in the prescribed format of KEAM. Instead, an Income Certificate in e-district format was given. Will the authority accept it?

Ans. The e-district format certificates are also acceptable. Candidates will also have to provide certificate number and security code with the certificates while applying for KEAM.

Ques. What documents have to be submitted for – Scouts & Guides, Sports, NCC Cadets?

Ans. Candidates have to submit the following documents:

  • Scouts & Guides: Copy of Rashtrapathi Guide Certificate signed by the President of India.
  • Sports Quota: A photocopy of the filled application form has to be submitted to the Secretary, Kerala State Sport Council, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001
  • NCC Cadets: A photocopy of the filled application form has to be submitted to the Deputy Director-General, NCC (Kerala), PB No.2212, Thiruvananthapuram-695010 through the respective NCC Unit Officers where the candidates have been enrolled as cadets.

Ques. While filling the Application form its showing ‘Session Time Out’? How to resolve the problem?

Ans. The specified time when the user does not work in the application form is called session timeout. Candidates have to log in again and avoid it again you should click on ‘Save’ button frequently after filling information to save the data.

Ques. For what factors my Application Form can get rejected?

Ans. Given below are the reasons for which KEAM Application form can be rejected:

  • If the affixed photograph in the application form is different from the uploaded photograph.
  • If the affixed photograph in the printed Application Form is not duly attested by the Head of the Institute where he/she last studied.
  • If the uploaded documents are not clear or not as per the required specifications.
  • If the print out of the application form and other documents reach after the last date specified.

Ques. How will I get to know whether my application Form has reached CEE office?

Ans. Visit the official website and click on ‘Application Status’ on the homepage. When the application will be received by CEE office then the status will change to ‘Received by CEE’. Candidates will also receive Application status on the registered mobile number.

Ques. How will I get to know about the KEAM Application Fee Payment status?

Ans. After the successful Application fee payment, candidates will be taken back to the portal where the ‘payment’ tab will be turned green after which print out can be taken.

Ques. I am not able to print the Application form even after the application fee payment. What should I do?

Ans. Option for ‘Print Application’ will be available at the homepage only after the successful fee payment.

Ques. What will be the application fee, if I choose Dubai as KEAM Exam Center?

Ans. For Dubai as exam center, you have to remit INR 12000 via online mode only. 

Ques. What is the procedure to claim SC/ST reservation?

Ans. Candidates seeking reservation under SC/ST category need to send a caste or a community certificate from the concerned Tahsildar in the specified performa along with the Application form.

Ques. I belong to socially and educationally backward class. How can I claim for reservation?

Ans. You have to submit an original Non-Creamy Layer certificate with the KEAM Application form.

Ques. What does OCI/PIO stand for?

Ans. OCI is Overseas Citizen of India and PIO is the short form of Persons of Indian Origin.

Ques. What is the required age limit for KEAM?

Ans. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020. There is no upper age limit for KEAM 2020.

KEAM 2020 Application Form, Eligibility and Form Correction

As per the Supreme Court’s order, Non-Keralite candidates can apply for MBBS course in private medical colleges. KEAM 2020 Application Form will be available from February 2020. The exam will be conducted on April 20 – 21, 2020.

  • Aspirants must qualify 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply. Check KEAM 2020 Eligibility
  • Candidates must pay the application fee of INR 700 for General category and INR 300 for Scheduled Castes. Aspirants from the ST category are exempted from fee payment.

Prerequisites for Registration

Before starting the registration procedure, candidates must make sure to have the following credentials of KEAM documents ready.

  • Valid Email ID and Mobile No.
  • Photograph, Signature and Left thumb impression scanned as per the prescribed guidelines.
  • Birth certificate/ SSLC/ Passport
  • Income certificate
  • Non-Creamy layer certificate/ Community certificate (if required)
  • Certificate for Special Reservation (if required)
  • Read the official KEAM prospectus before starting KEAM Registration.

How to fill KEAM 2020 Application Form?

To fill the application form of KEAM 2020, the candidate has to go through the following six steps:

  1. Registration
  2. Upload documents
  3. Fill the form
  4. Pay the application fee
  5. Take printout of application form
  6. Send the application form and supporting documents to CEE

Step 1: Registration

  • Click on the “Registration” link 
  • Enter the following details:
  1. Applicant’s name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Email ID and mobile number
  4. Password
  5. Security code displayed on screen

Upon successful registration, an application number will be generated that the candidate needs to note down. Using the system generated application number and password, the candidate will be able to view results of KEAM 2020, exercise option registration, and also check the allotment memo.

Step 2: Uploading of Scanned Images

In this step, the candidate must upload scanned images of photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression in the prescribed format given below:

Step 3: Fill the KEAM Application form 2020

The candidate has to next fill in all basic information pertaining to choices or courses, personal details, etc. 

  • Choice of Courses: The candidate must select the course (s) to which admission is sought. The candidate has to select an exam centre from the available options. 
  • Personal Details: In this section, the candidate has to enter details pertaining to gender, Aadhaar UID, permanent and communication address, etc. 
  • Academic Details: The candidate has to furnish Qualifying examination details, exam status of 10+2 or equivalent, whether the candidate has applied for KEAM before, etc.
  • Communal Reservation: Through this section, the candidate will be able to claim communal reservation 
  • Income Details: Candidate has to furnish details pertaining to family income, district, taluk, etc.

Before submitting the KEAM 2020 application form, the candidate must ensure that it is complete in all respects. It is because once the form is submitted there is no option to edit it

Step 4: Pay KEAM Application Fee

The exam conducting authority has reduced the application fee of KEAM 2020 by INR 100. Candidates belonging to general category have to pay INR 700, whereas, SC applicants have to INR 300 as the application fee. Candidates choosing Dubai as examination center will have to remit an additional fee of INR 12,000 irrespective of category. There are two modes of paying the application fee:

Mode 1:  Online payment can be made through internet banking/Credit Card/ Debit Card. Upon successful payment, the candidate will be redirected to the home page of KEAM 2020 application form, where the “Payment” tab will be highlighted in green, indicating successful transaction of the fee.

Note: If payment is unsuccessful, a message to that effect will display on the screen.

Mode 2: E-challan: To make the payment in this mode, the candidate must take a printout of the e-challan using the “Print e-challan” link.  Using the printout, the candidate can make the cash payment at All head and sub-post offices in Kerala.

Note: After receiving the payment, the post office will make the necessary entries in their online portal as well on the e-challan form. Before collecting the e-challan, ensure that it is duly updated and signed and that the official has recorded the transaction ID pertaining to the payment. If the e-challan payment is successful, the “Payment Application Fee” would turn green.

Step 5: Take a printout of KEAM application form 2020

After successfully making the payment, take a printout of the application form of KEAM 2020, in a manner that it contains the main page of application and performa (s) of supporting documents. To take printout the candidate must use the “Print Application” option.

Step 6: Send form with supporting proof to CEE

The following documents should be attached with the form in the same order given here:

  1. The first page of printout of application form of KEAM 2020 with photograph pasted (same as uploaded). It must also be duly attested by a Government Gazetted Officer/Head of Institution.
  2. Nativity Certificate.
  3. Age Proof.
  4. Course Certificate in Original or Self Attested copy of Mark list (for candidates who studies Sanskrit at 10+2).
  5. Original Community/ Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, ( for availing communal reservation).
  6. Original Income Certificate (for fee concession / EC status).
  7. Proof for Special Reservation, if claimed

How to Reset password?

If the candidate has lost the password, there is an option to reset it. The steps are given below:

  • Click on the “Forgot Password” link
  • The candidate will be redirected to a log-in window. Log in using the following details:
  1. Application Number
  2. Date of Birth
  3. Email ID (should be the same as entered at time of registration
  • Select a password
  • Click on submit

How to retrieve KEAM application number?

  1. Click on the “Forgot Application Number” tab
  2. Log in to the window that opens using application number, password, and DOB.

The application number will be displayed on screen. Note it down and keep it safe as it will be required for future reference

How to Check the status of Application Form?

The status of the application form of KEAM 2020 will be displayed on the home page of the candidate’s account. To view it, the candidate has to log-in to their individual accounts.

Types of status available

  • Registration: Indicates Candidate’s Registration for online application.
  • Upload Images: Shows whether the images of photograph, signature and thumb impression are uploaded to the portal.
  • Fill Application: Indicates the application is filled up and finally submitted.
  • Pay Application Fee: Indicates whether CEE office has received payment confirmation.
  • Print Application: Denotes the printout of application is taken or not by the candidate.
  • Received by CEE: This status indicates whether the CEE office has received and taken up the application for scrutiny. If the status is green, it means the application is taken up for scrutiny.

If there is a Green color against the status, it indicates completion of that step. On the other hand, a Red light signifies the step is yet to be performed.

Note: Candidates whose application form will be found defected will not be able to download KEAM 2020 admit card unless and until errors are rectified.

Form Rejection Cases

  • Uploaded images not meeting prescribed guidelines
  • If the photo affixed on the printout of the application form of KEAM doesn’t match the photo that was uploaded online, the application could be rejected
  • If the affixed photograph is not duly attested by the Head of the Institution in which the studied last or by a Government Gazetted Officer,
  • Unclear and counterfeit signature and thumb impression can also lead to rejection.
  • Not furnishing Nativity certificate with the printout.
  • If the applicable application fee corresponding to the category is not paid, it is another reason for cancellation.
  • If the printout of application and supporting documents reach the designated office after the last date.

Form Correction

The steps that candidates need to follow for making corrections in KEAM 2020 applications are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website of CEE Kerala.

Step 2: Click on “KEAM 2020 application form correction” link.

Step 3: Enter your login credentials such as application number and DOB.

Step 4: Now, proceed towards the corrections in the application form.

Step 5: Take at least 2 printouts of correction application form for further use.

Details that can be Corrected

There are only few fields in which a candidate can make edits or corrections. No changes can be made in the fields of exam centres and courses. Listed below are the changes that can be rectified in KEAM application form 2020:

  • Mobile Number
  • Email address
  • Scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression
  • Date of Birth
  • Aadhaar number
  • Other details indicated by the exam conducting authority
Note: Candidate must send documented proof of the claim to correct the defects within the stipulated time frame.

Make sure that the application should be complete in all respects. A candidate will be considered for the KEAM 2020 or for admission, only if all the relevant certificates are uploaded and sent as given in the Prospectus, in proof of eligibility, or in support of any claim for reservation, under any category.

Ques. What is the last date to pay the application fee for KEAM 2020?

Ans. As per the official brochure of KEAM, the last day to apply and submit the application fee is February 2020.

Ques. Which is a suitable web browser to start the registration procedure for KEAM 2020?

Ans. It is suggested to use any of the following web browsers in order to avoid any form of technical glitches while filling the application form of KEAM 2020 – Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and above or Google Chrome 3.0

KEAM 2020 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme, Syllabus and Books

KEAM Exam Pattern 2020: The Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE) will release the paper pattern at its official website (www.cee-kerala.org). The engineering test comprises of 2 papers – Paper I (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper II (Mathematics), conducted in two days sessions. KEAM 2020 Application Form will be available from February 2020. The exam will be conducted in May 2020 in offline mode.

  • The standard of the entrance test is that of Higher Secondary or equivalent exam. Candidates appearing for B.Pharm must appear for Paper I only.
  • The syllabus for KEAM 2020 is based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Higher Secondary level (10+2) or equivalent exam. Check KEAM Syllabus

Each question paper will have 4 versions as detailed below:

Paper 1 – Physics and Chemistry | Versions: A1, A2, A3 and A4

Paper 2 – Mathematics | Versions: B1, B2, B3 and B4

  • The question booklet version will be printed on the top left margin of the facing sheet of the question booklet.
  • If the Roll Number ends in an odd number, then the candidate should get a question booklet marked A1/B1/A3/B3.
  • If the Roll Number ends in an even number, then the candidate should get a question booklet marked A2/B2/A4/B4.
  • On receipt of the question booklet, ensure that the Version Code printed in the Admit Card and in the question booklet is the same.
  • If the candidate gets a question booklet where the version does not match the Roll Number, inform invigilator immediately, and get it replaced by a version that matches the Roll Number.

KEAM 2020 Exam Pattern in Details

KEAM 2020 common entrance exam will be held on May 2020. The test will comprise of 2 papers- Paper I and Paper II scheduled to be conducted on 2 consecutive days.

  • The subjects tested in Paper I will be Physics and Chemistry. It will comprise of 120 objective questions to be solved within 150 minutes.
  • Similarly, Paper II will have 120 numerical problems of Mathematics to be solved at the same time.
  • The Mathematics paper is compulsory for all engineering aspirants while Paper I is compulsory for Pharmacy.
  • Both the papers will be available in the English language only.
  • Applicants will receive the question sheet in the form of booklets and they will be required to mark their responses on an OMR sheet.
  • The maximum marks a student can score in each paper are 480.
  • Candidates must choose the most appropriate answer out of 5 alternative options.

KEAM Marking Scheme

Aspirants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the entrance exam. There has been no change in the marking scheme and it is the same as it was for the year 2018. It is similar to the marking scheme used in JEE 2020. The marking scheme of KEAM 2020 is stated as follows:

  • 4 marks will be awarded to candidates for marking every accurate answer.
  • A penalty will be charged for marking incorrect or wrong answers i.e. negative marking is applicable. 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • No mark will be deducted from the score of the aspirant for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • The marking of two options on the OMR sheet will be considered as a wrong answer and penalty of -1 will be charged accordingly.

KEAM 2020 Qualifying Marks

  • In order to qualify for the engineering exam and have their names in merit list, a minimum of 10 marks in each of the paper is required.
  • Candidates who do not score the minimum stipulated marks will not qualify and hence will not be short-listed for admission to the respective course.
  • It should also be noted that applicants who fail to answer even a single question in each paper will automatically be disqualified and declared ineligible for further rounds of admission.
  • Applicants belonging to the reserved category (SC/ ST) will be exempted from the said rule and there will be no minimum requirement of marks in KEAM entrance test for such candidates.

KEAM 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus for KEAM 2020 is based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Higher Secondary level (10+2) or equivalent exam. The entire syllabus for the test will be given in the prospectus available on the official website. Questions will be advanced in level and will require application of candidate’s knowledge so as to select the best students.

KEAM 2020 Important Instructions

Applicants must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall and to ensure that the examination proceeds properly.

  • Candidates must only bring their KEAM 2020 Admit Card, blue or black ball-point pen and a clipboard. Forbidden items like correction fluid, calculator, logarithm table, mobile phones etc. will not be allowed inside the exam centre.
  • Applicants must report at their respective centre 30 minutes before the exam commences.
  • They must ensure that they fill up the details properly on the question booklet and the odd-even rule for KEAM Roll number and Question Booklet number match accordingly.
  • To mark a response on the OMR sheet, students must darken the bubble in the prescribed way otherwise it will not be counted.

KEAM 2020 Scorecard, Merit List, Counselling

KEAM 2020 will be announced in the online mode by CEE Kerala in May 2020. To check the results, enter your KEAM credentials – roll number and application number. Only those who qualified the entrance test can access their KEAM 2020 Result.

  • After the declaration of result, KEAM rank list will be released. 
  • KEAM 2020 Rank will be declared on or before June 2020. It will be announced for Engineering, Architecture, MBBS/BDS, Medical & Allied and Ayurveda courses.
  • Equal weightage (50:50) is considered to prepare the rank list.
  • KEAM Counselling 2020 will be commenced from the month of June 2020. It will be organized through CAP (Centralised Allotment Process).

KEAM 2019 Statistics
Out of 90233 students who had appeared for both the papers of Engineering Entrance Examination, 58268 students have qualified under Engineering Stream and 47974 students have qualified under Pharmacy stream out of the 64795 students opted and appeared for the Pharmacy Entrance Examination (Paper I of the Engineering Entrance Examination).

KEAM 2020 Result Date

The examination will be conducted in May 2020. Students will be able to check the KEAM result 2020 on June 2020. CEE, Kerala release the rank list after the declaration of result. It will be released on June 2020. Candidates those will get shortlist in the rank list can appear in counselling. Counselling process will be started in the month of June 2020. Counselling will be conducted via online mode.

 

How to Check KEAM 2020 Result?

Candidates can check their scorecards by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official portal of KEAM i.e., www.cee.kerala.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on ‘KEAM 2020 Candidate Portal’ link.

Step 3: Enter the required credentials namely Application No., Password and Security Code.

Step 5: The result will be displayed on the screen, view the same.

Details Present in KEAM 2020 Result

The following details will be mentioned on the result’s page accessed by the candidates:

  • Roll Number of the Candidate
  • Standardized 12th Score of PCM (out of 300)
  • Total Marks (out of 600) scored by the candidate
  • KEAM Rank of the candidate

KEAM 2020 Merit List

The merit list will comprise of candidates with ranks higher than the cut off ranks set by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. This list is prepared by taking together the marks scored by the candidate on the exam and the aggregate of marks scored by him in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in +2 examination. The two scores are taken in a ratio of 50:50.

Tie-breaking Criteria for KEAM 2020

In case of a tie between the scores of two or more candidates following criteria will be applied to select the candidate-

  1. The candidates with higher marks in Mathematics in KEAM 2020 will be given preference.
  2. If the tie persists, candidates who score more in Physics will be given preference.
  3. If still there is a tie, then candidates with higher standardized marks in Mathematics of the 12th standard will be ranked higher.
  4. If still there is a tie, then higher standardized marks in Physics during 12th standard examinations will be considered.
  5. When none of the above options work, then age will be used to break the tie. Candidates who are older in age will be ranked higher.

Qualifying Marks in KEAM 2020

  • Candidates must secure at least 10 marks in each paper – Paper 1 (Physics & Chemistry) and Paper 2 (Mathematics) to make it to the rank list of KEAM 2020.
  • Failing to meet the prescribed minimum marks, their names will not be included in the rank list, and by extension no longer be considered for KEAM 2020 seat allotment.
  • A total of 90806 candidates appeared in the entrance exam last time, out of which 72440 qualified and were listed in the KEAM 2020 rank list. 
  • There are no minimum marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. However, they will have to answer at least one question in each paper, or else they will be disqualified.

KEAM 2020 Cutoff

  • KEAM 2020 cut off will be announced by CEE, Kerala after the release of the result.
  • Candidates who score the marks more than or equal to the set cut off will qualify for merit list.
  • KEAM qualifiers will be then called for the counselling sessions for seat allotment in various courses and colleges.
  • A separate cut off of KEAM will be released after each round of counselling.
  • Cut offs will consist of opening and closing ranks of all the participating institutes, branches and categories. 

KEAM 2020 cut off will depend upon the following factors-

  • The overall performance of the candidates in the exam
  • Cutoffs of previous years.
  • Difficulty level of the test.
  • Availability of seats.

Rank List of Architecture

  • Provisional rank list for B.Arch will be published on CEE Official Website.
  • Preparation of the rank list for admission to B.Arch. will be given equal weightage for NATA marks and qualifying exam marks.
  • Marks obtained in NATA out of 200 will be added to the total marks and grades secured in the qualifying exam computed out of 200. Hence, the rank list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained out of 400.

Rank List of Medical and Allied Courses

The CEE will publish the provisional state Rank lists of the NEET UG test takers on their official website.

Rank List of Ayurveda Course

  • CEE will publish a separate rank list of Ayurveda course, on the basis of NEET UG scores.
  • Candidates who have studied Sanskrit as their second language in Intermediate level, they will be given additional 8 marks to the total marks in NEET UG at the time of preparing the merit list.

Rank List of MBBS/ BDS Courses

The rank list for this course will be prepared on the basis of NEET UG rank subject to Nativity conditions and other eligibility conditions.

KEAM Counselling 2020

  • KEAM 2020 counselling process will commence after the declaration of the merit list.
  • The merit list will be released on the official website in June 2020. 
  • The procedure of the allotment of the seats is determined by the Central Allotment Process or CAP. 
  • Qualifying candidates have to register for the counselling session.
  • The choice course and college of the candidate will be asked during the registration for counselling.
  • Verification of the documents will be done during the counselling session. Candidates will be allotted seats on merit cum preference basis.
  • Candidates who miss their slot of counselling will not be allowed in any other slots.

KEAM Cut off 2020 – The Kerala Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) releases the cut off for KEAM after each round concludes of Seat Allotment. KEAM Cut off will release in the form of ranks/ marks. On the basis of the cut off, authorities prepare the merit lists. Cut off marks for general category is 50% and 40% for SEBC/ SC/ ST category.
