Polytechnic for Women, Bangalore OverviewTYPE : Government polytechnic for Women, Banglore is a Pioneering institute established in the year 1961 with a humble beginning of 80 girl Students, to cater to the need of Changing Technology. The Institute offers free Education to the girl students in various fields. This is located in the heart of city. At present the institute has 950 students. The present building is located in serene surrounding and was inaugurated by the erstwhile Maharani of Mysore, Tripura Sundaramani in the year 1963 the year. This is the second Polytechnic in Asia Sumdara Ammani first in south India. Various Agencies have come forward and contribute to the overall Development of this Institute, Like Canada-India International Co-operation project, World Bank project, MHRD Bank project, MHRD-MODROB project. It has the state of the Art-Machiners and equipments to keep abreast with the changing Times and Techno-Savvy society. The Institute has Dynamic and effective faculty with good leadership qualities who are focused in inculcating values and competencies in the students. It also has a Social obligation towards the Community by developing them through various skills in the form of community development programmes. Hostel is situated within premise which caters to the rural students of the institute and the surrounding colleges.
