Vivekanand College, Delhi OverviewVivekananda College was established in the year Established In : 1970 by the Govt. Of NCT Delhi in East Delhis knowledge hub of Vivek Vihar. The college was built with a sole objective of offering higher education opportunities to women to nearby areas like North East Delhi, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Prof. S Nurul Hasan laid the foundation stone of the building on 26th October 1976, the college had a humble beginning with approximately 300 students who were admitted to B.A (Pass) Course. Currently, the college caters to over Established In : 2000 students who are inducted into various Undergraduate Honors courses. Vivekananda College also offers Postgraduate Degree in Sanskrit and Hindi.Vivekananda College has a vast 10 acres campus out of which almost 5 acres are for the recreational purpose such as sports. The campus area consists of dazzling gardens where students interact in their leisure time which signifies that education should not be confined within the spaces of four classroom walls. The college has over 30 classrooms along with 12 tutorial rooms, 3 states of the art computer centres, 2 specialized labs, library, seminar room, conference room and auditorium.Recently, the college established a new academic block to cater to the growing number of students from the Trans Yamuna area. A brand new 200 metres synthetic track was laid for athletics as well.
