It is essential that these candidates have studied subjects such as Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (covering both Direct and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration, or Management Accounting, or similar subjects under different titles.
Graduates or postgraduates from non-commerce backgrounds must achieve at least 60 percent aggregate or an equivalent grade in examinations conducted by any recognized university, including Open Universities.
Candidates who have successfully completed the intermediate-level examination from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India are also eligible for direct entry, as they are exempt from the Foundation examination and can register directly for the Intermediate course.
Furthermore, candidates in their final year of graduation may provisionally register for the Intermediate course. Their registration will be confirmed only upon the submission of their final year mark sheet or passing certificate within six months of their examination date.
