Bahra University (Shimla Hills) was established in 2011 under the state legislature of Himachal Pardesh 2011 and has been approved by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act of 1956. Bahra University also enjoys the esteemed membership of Association of Indian University’ (AIU) from the year 2015.
Within a short span of just 10 years, it has become the first choice of aspiring student for higher and professional courses in Himachal and adjoining states. Bahra University has 2000+ students on campus from pan India including 100+ International Students community, making the BU most culturally diverse and preferred destination of learning in the State of Himachal.

There are weight exercise machines, aerobics machines, and a wide array of indoor sports available in the gymnasium. The instructors are always available to provide a helping hand.

“Library has a very active learning ambiance. It has one central Library and two departmental Libraries. It’s fully lined with internet and intranet. The library plays a vital role in furthering the academic and research mission and facilitates the creation and dissemination of knowledge. The library is the backbone of academic and research activities of the University. The library has been subscribing to over 110 national and international journals and magazines in print form. Subscription of various local, regional, and national newspapers in Hindi and English is the key part of the library. The library is fully computerized with the help of Library Management Software, known as ‘ALICE For WINDO’

Bahra University Scholarships
Bahra University provides several scholarships to students in terms of fee waivers. The fee waivers may vary based on the merit scored by the candidate in the last qualifying examination.
