The Jharkhand Government, willing to spread the academic excellence of BIT further across the state, made a request to the institute to establish an Extension Centre at Deoghar. BIT responded wholeheartedly and subsequently, a MoU was signed between the Institute and the Government of Jharkhand. Thus, the Deoghar Extension Centre of BIT commenced functioning in October 2007 as the eighth of the Institute’s campuses within India offering undergraduate programs in different streams of engineering.

Birla Institute of Technology Deoghar (BIT Deoghar) is one of the institutes of Birla Institutes of Technology offering a B.E/ B.Tech in various specializations. The selection criteria for the admission is entrance based on which, the accepted exam score is JEE Main.

As per the past stats, the college has maintained to place its students in prestigious and well-reputed companies like Accenture, Atos Origin, Birlasoft, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. with a salary package ranging between INR 10 LPA to INR 39 LPA.

BIT Deoghar B.Tech Admission 2022

BIT Deoghar offers B.Tech in 5 specializations. The basic qualification for a candidate to be eligible is 10+2 from a recognized board in the country with a background in the Science stream.

Admission in the undergraduate programs is based on AIR in JEE-Main through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) / Joint Seat Allocation Authority (Jo SAA).

Note:

Reservation is in accordance with BIT Mesra.
NRI/PIO/ SFFS are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in Class 12^th or equivalent qualifying examination.
Admission is confirmed only after completing all the important processes, including document verification and payment of required fee amount.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category of reservation may also have a relaxation of 5% in aggregate.

BIT Deoghar Application Process 2022

The application form can be filled through offline mode only. Candidates can visit the official website for downloading the application form. They will need to take a printout of the completed application form and send it to the institute.

Candidates must fill in all required details in the application form and verify it before submitting.

The required fee is INR 2500 for General/OBC Candidates and INR 1500 for SC/ST candidates.

BIT Deoghar Placement

Birla Institute of technology Deoghar has a Training and Placement Cell that works towards all the placement related activities of students. The cell grooms the personality of students and make them industry-ready by making them aware of the corporate environment. Looking at the stats of BIT Deoghar placements, various reputed multinational companies, research institutes; start-ups have visited the campus and had offered placement opportunities to students.

Till date 81.33% of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) eligible students have secured their jobs from the campus placement drives.
The highest and average package offered has been INR 39 LPA & INR 10 LPA respectively.

BIT Deoghar provides scholarships to its candidates on the basis of the merit scored in the entrance exams and the yearly exams conducted by the colleges. These scholarships are given on a private level according to the rules and regulations of BIT Mesra.

The college has Gym facility for the students.
Library
The BIT Deoghar Central Library serves as a central facility of the Institute supports the study, teaching, research and development programmes of the Institute since 2007. The library has a collection of more than 26000 volumes which includes Text Books, Reference Books etc. The Library subscribes to about 37 current Journals. The Library also subscribes numbers of e-journals as per AICTE norms. Library operations have been automated with the help of an integrated library software package, LIBSYS. The book database is accessible through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). Circulation Services are executed through Barcode System. The library has a well-equipped Xerox facility.
Sports
A Healthy mind resides in a healthy body. The students are encouraged to take up sports actively. A Huge Ground is maintained meticulously for playing Cricket and Football. Two Basketballs and Badminton Courts are also present in the Institute Campus. Several other Sports such as Table Tennis, Athletics, Volleyball and others are also conducted. Students of the Institute have taken part in various Inter-College Tournaments and matches have shown exemplary performance. They are trained by an experienced sports officer. An Intramural Sports meet allows them to show their mettle and broaden their horizons. The Institute believes that playing Sports help the Students to build a spirit of Teamwork and Sportsmanship which will help them to lead better lives.

Alumni Associations
The institute takes immense pleasure to organise different Alumni activities including Alumni Reunions of different batches comprising about 50000 alumnus inviting them back to their alma matter. Alumni Relation Group (ARG) has been formed by the institute, which consists of Deans, HoDs and senior officials. The Group is responsible to initiate necessary action to organise Alumni Reunions of different batches. Further, Students Alumni Relation Cell (SARC), a student body, has been formed to take up the task to hold such meet under the guidance of ARG. During recent past Alumni Reunions of different batches include 1961,1962,1965,1985,1987 were held. During such program various activities are organised which include Campus visit, Department and various labs visit, Lunch/ Dinner with students in various hostels, Common Lunch/Dinner with faculty and staff of the institute, cultural program performed by the current students, Games & sports, Then&Now, Yadein, WeCare, etc. The meets are instrumental in the exchange of knowledge and experience sharing between the alumni and the institute for achieving excellence in the academics. The special drive initiated by ARG for organising Alumni Lecture series, workshop and seminar. The alumni are involved in supporting our Training and Placement cell for placement and internships
