Who can apply for this scholarship?

  1. The applicant must have more than 40% disability certified by the medical authority of the state government or UTs.

  2. Should be studying in class 11 to postgraduation level from a recognized Board of Secondary Education or University

  3. The annual income of the family should be lesser than INR 2.50 Lac including all the sources

The objective of this scholarship is to help students belonging to the economically weaker section of the society by providing them with better higher education opportunities and thus to enhance their employability chances.

Who can apply for scholarships for Indian students after 12th?

  1. The applicant must be studying in class 11, 12, Post/ graduate, Technical/ Vocational courses, Ph.D./ M.Phil.

  2. The applicant must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous academic examination.

  • Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without taking any competitive examination or should have scored at least 50% marks in the previous academic examination.

  • The annual income should not be more than INR 2.50 Lac including all the sources of the family.

It is executed by the Department of Higher Education since 2008 to help meritorious students with financial assistance in order to meet the day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  1. The candidate should have scored above 80% in the final examination of class XII

  2. The annual income should be lesser than INR 6 Lac including all the sources of family

  3. Not receiving any other scholarship

It was introduced in 2006 to assist dependent wards & widows of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) Personnel with higher technical and professional education. National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

It is formulated and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to encourage the students who fall in the category of Scheduled Tribe to acquire higher education. It helps the eligible students to pursue M.Phil and Ph.D. Courses in Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Technology.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • Candidate must belong to the ST category.

  • Candidate must have passed the Post-Graduation examination.

  • Candidate should have registered for regular and full-time M.Phil./Ph.D courses in University/Institute recognized by UGC.

Scholarships for Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities

It involves identifying and promoting quality education to the students with disabilities by full financial support for pursuing studies at the level of Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in any discipline. This is one of the scholarships for Indian students after 12th

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • The candidate having 40% or more disability with the disability certificate issued by any competent medical authority.

  • Candidate must possess admission for a full-time course at the level of Post Graduate Degree/Diploma. Not applicable for distance-learning/part-time/weekend courses under any stream.

  • Candidate should not be receiving any other scholarship provided by the Government of India.

  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 6 Lac from all the sources.

  • Only the first two disabled children of the same parents will be eligible for the scholarship. It is exceptional in case the second/third children are twins.

Post-Matric Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers

The objective behind the initiative to provide education scholarship for the children of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers is to ensure that no child is working in any hazardous sector. It is available to the students who are pursuing Class 11th to post-graduation/ diploma courses.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • Either one of the parents of the student must be a Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome
    Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker with at least six months’ service.

  • The total monthly income of the family should not exceed as under:

    • BeediWorkers – Rs.10,000/- per month.

    • Mine Workers – Rs.10,000/- per month.

    • Cine workers – Rs.8,000/- per month.

  • Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt.

  • The admission taken should be to an institution recognized by the Government for the full-time course. Correspondence/ distance learning students are not eligible.

  • Students who are already receiving scholarships or stipend from any other source are not eligible.

The scholarship is initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The objective is to assist the exceptionally highly motivated students financially in order to meet the expense of pursuing basic science courses and research careers in science.

Gujarat

The following are the details for Gujarat state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Post SSC Scholarship for Boys and Girls (SEBC), Gujarat

This is issued by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat to aid and assist the boys of Gujarat in their post-SSC education, and one can apply from the month of July to August

Higher Education Scheme, Gujarat

This initiative is for postgraduation students. The main purpose of this scholarship is to ensure the economic welfare and empowerment of students through education with the provision of up to 2.5 lakh rupees per student for the cause of higher education.

Rajasthan

The following are the details for Rajasthan state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Rajasthan

This scholarship is issued by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Rajasthan for the economically backward sections of the society. It is available from the month of December to January. 

Mukhya Mantri Sarvajan Uchcha Shiksha Scheme

This Scholarship is being provided to students in order to study at the country’s premier institutes like IIT’s, IIM’s and IISc. The minimum prerequisite being that the student is not getting any other loan sops and the parental income is less than 2.5 lakhs per annum.

Karnataka

The following are the details for Karnataka state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Pre-matric scholarships for minorities in Karnataka

This is to aid the minorities in the state, for students from 1st grade to 10th grade as such, and this is issued by the Directorate of the minorities in the state and is available in the month of October and September.

National Overseas Scholarship for Minorities

The Government of Karnataka under the Directorate of Minorities has established a scholarship for the benefit and upliftment of students belonging to the minority communities. A meritorious student can undertake higher education in prestigious overseas universities. For a master’s degree, a Ph.D. and/or a postdoctoral course the National Overseas Scholarship offers up to 20 lakh rupees for a two-year program.

Delhi

The following are the details for Delhi state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Reimbursement of tuition fees for SC/ST/OBC minorities, Delhi

This is to waive the tuition fees of the minorities of the state-issued by the department of the welfare of the minorities in the state and it is available from the month of December to April. The Delhi Government has allocated a huge amount of the state budget for the education sector.

Education Loan Scheme, Delhi

This revolutionary scheme offers students up to 7.5 lakh rupees at recognized universities and up to 15 lakh rupees foreign education subsidy. In this scheme, the principal amount will be provided by the banks with the government as a guarantor. This loan empowers the majority of talented yet underrepresented students who do not have any property or land as security.

The Scheme extends to children of the Delhi government employees as well. There is no age limit or restriction whatsoever for eligibility. The main goal of this scheme is to provide each and every meritorious student with the opportunity to undertake higher education.

Maharashtra

The following are the details for Maharashtra state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Post matric Other State Scholarship for ST, SC, General Category, Uttar Pradesh

This is to provide financial aid for the backward castes right after their 10th boards for their undergraduate and postgraduation education, aided by the department of welfare, Maharashtra and is available from the month of July to the month of August

Eklavya Scholarship

The Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra provides this scholarship to students taking admissions in a postgraduate degree from the stream of arts, law, commerce, and science. The minimum eligibility is having scored 60 percent score in graduation. One also needs to belong to a family with less than 75 thousand rupee income. For renewal too, the students must secure at least 50% marks in their PG first year.

Tuition Exam Fee (Freeship)

The Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra offers this scheme called Tuition Exam Fee (Freeship). It is aimed towards students belonging to scheduled tribes with annual parental income less than INR 2,50,000. For the renewal of the freeship, the student will have to pass the previous year’s examination.

Uttar Pradesh

The following are the details for Uttar Pradesh state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Uttar Pradesh

This is issued by the Backward Class Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh in order to aid the students belonging to the backward classes of the state. One can apply from the month of July to August.

Post matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship for Minorities

This scholarship applies for students from the minority communities studying at graduation, postgraduation, Ph.D. and other higher levels. The only main requirement is that the annual income of the family should not exceed INR 2 Lakh from all sources.

Kerala

The following are the details for Kerala state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Sanskrit Scholarship, Kerala

This is issued by The Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala, and one can apply from the month of July to August and gain advance education of the Sanskrit language.

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the State Government of Kerala for students who have their domicile in the state. This Government of Kerala initiative is applicable to only those students who are in the first year of graduate or postgraduate courses in the Government and aided colleges or at the University of Kerala.

Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS)

This scholarship is for students belonging to the minority communities who have gained a merit seat at nursing, diploma and paramedical courses in the state. It is to empower the nursing service sector whilst providing economic aid to the weaker section of the society. It is provided by the Department of Minority Welfare. The student must belong to/from the state Kerala (nativity) with annual familial income less than 8 lakh rupees.

APJ Abdul Kalaam Scholarship (APJAK)

This scholarship again is provided for minority community students pursuing Polytechnic diploma courses in a government or aided college in a merit seat. It is provided by the Department of Minority Welfare. The student should be a native of Kerala and the first preference will be given to BPL (Below Poverty Line) students.

Madhya Pradesh

The following are the details for Madhya Pradesh state in particular and scholarship after 12th is as follows:

Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Yojana (MMJKY), Madhya Pradesh

This is issued by the Department of Technical Education & Skill Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh and one can apply throughout the year. It helps students take up courses/degrees without worrying about finances.

Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana (MMVY)

This scheme runs throughout the year too with a noble objective of provision of promising career opportunities to talented and meritorious students belonging to the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Eligibility criteria are as follows – The student must have scored at least 75% marks in class 12 with an annual parental income that’s less than 6 lakhs per annum.
