CLAT 2025: Registration (Started), Exam Date, Latest Updates

CLAT 2025 Registration began on July 15, 2024. The exam is set for December 1, 2024. CLAT, or Common Law Admission Test, is a national entrance exam organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities. The wait for CLAT 2025 Registration is finally over. It has officially started!

This exam allows students to apply for a 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and a one-year LLM (PG) law program. There are 24 NLUs offering UG courses and 21 NLUs offering PG courses. Candidates who have completed Class 12 or hold a bachelor’s degree can apply.

CLAT 2025 Application form

  • The Consortium of NLUs has begun the application process for CLAT 2025 starting from July 15, 2024, for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Applications can only be submitted online; no offline options are available.
  • The registration process includes several steps like registering, uploading documents, selecting NLU preferences, and paying the fee.
  • Candidates should review the eligibility criteria thoroughly before completing the application. It is important to fill out the form carefully, as there will be no option to make corrections later.
  • After completing the form, candidates must upload necessary documents such as a photograph, signature, and other required certificates in PDF format.
  • Double-check all details in the application before submitting it on the website.
  • Finally, print a copy of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.

Application Fee:

How to Apply for CLAT 2025

By following the given step by step procedure, candidates will be able to fill the form:

  •  First, go to the website (link provided above).
  •  On the main page, click on the “CLAT 2025” option.
  •  A login form will show up; click on “Don’t have an account? Register here.”
  • A registration form will appear; fill it out with your information.
  •  Next, choose your preferences from the 22 national law universities.
  •  Upload the necessary documents in PDF format.
  •  Pay the application fee online.
  •  Review all the information in the form and submit it.
  •  Finally, print a copy of the form and keep it safe until admission.

 

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill CLAT eligibility criteria 2025 before filling the form:

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Applying candidates must be Indian Nationals/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored.
  • Age Limit: There will be no upper age limit to apply for both UG & PG courses.

For UG Programme
  • Qualifying Exam: To be eligible for UG courses, candidates must pass class 12th level from a recognized board/ university.
  • Marks: In the qualifying exam, candidates must secure at least 45% aggregate and 40% marks in case of SC/ ST category.
  • Appearing: Those appearing candidates in class 12th level will also be eligible to apply for the exam.
For PG Programme
  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidates for PG courses must have passed LLB or 5-year integrated or its equivalent from a recognized institute/ university.
  • Marks: To be eligible, candidates must score 50% marks and 45% marks in case of reserved category (SC/ST) in the qualifying exam.
  • Appearing: Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying exam in April/ May 2025 will also be eligible to apply.

CLAT 2025 Exam Pattern

Here candidates can check the complete CLAT exam pattern 2025 to prepare better for the exam:

  • The exam will be conducted offline using pen and paper. It will include Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and subjective questions.
  • There will be 5 sections in the question paper for undergraduate courses.
  • Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the exam.
  • The exam will be in English only.
  • A total of 120 questions will be asked for both undergraduate and postgraduate exams.
  • Each correct answer will earn 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be taken away for each wrong answer.

For UG Courses:
