UGC NET June 2024 results
The UGC NET June 2024 results will be announced for more than 900,000 candidates who participated in the exams conducted from August 21 to September 4. The results will be based on the final answer key for UGC NET 2024, which follows the provisional answer key released on September n. The answer key faced scrutiny after candidates reported discrepancies in the history section.
Originally, the UGC NET exam was scheduled for June and was set to take place in a single shift for the first time. However, it was canceled due to allegations of a paper leak on the DarkNet. The Ministry of Education decided to cancel the exam due to concerns over the integrity of the test, leading the testing agency to announce new exam dates.
Regarding the UGC NET Result 2024, a normalization process will be employed. For exams held in multiple shifts, the NTA will utilize a score normalization method to address variations in the difficulty levels of different question papers. This process involves converting candidates’ raw scores into percentile scores, reflecting their relative performance among all test-takers. The percentile scores will be calculated to seven decimal places to minimize clustering and reduce the likelihood of ties.
Here’s a brief overview of the normalization and result preparation steps:
Step 1: Distribution of candidates across two shifts
Candidates will be randomly assigned to two sessions, ensuring an approximately equal number of participants in each. The sessions will be structured as follows:
- Session 1: Day 1, Shift 1
- Session 2: Day 1, Shift 2
Step 2: Result preparation for each session
The UGC NET exam results for each session will include:
- Raw scores
- Percentile scores based on total raw scores
The percentile score for a candidate is calculated using the formula:
(Number of candidates in the session with raw scores equal to or less than the candidate) / (Total number of candidates in the session) × 100
Step 3: Compilation of NTA scores.
