In 1993 a young man with just twenty nine thousand and loads of determination embarked on a mission to transform the higher education landscape of the Doon valley. Graphic Era Deemed to be University is the culmination of the vision of its founder, Prof (Dr) Kamal Ghanshala, who had the dream to change the destiny of thousands of youth, through quality and holistic education and his vision took a concrete shape in the form of Graphic Era Institute in 1996.

In 2008, the Institute was accorded the status of Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification F.9-48/2007-U.3 (A) dated August 14, 2008 and approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. In 2015 Graphic Era University was accredited by NAAC with grade ‘A’.

Graphic Era University B.Tech Admission 2022

At the undergraduate level, Era University provides Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme to the aspiring candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Engineering. The course is offered for four years. Apart from B.Tech (Biotechnology), to get admission in rest of the courses candidates need to have a 10+2 level or equivalent degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate, to be considered eligible for the concerned course.

The admission in all of the specializations in B.Tech programme except the Biotechnology is done on the basis of rank secured in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).

Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech (Biotechnology) will be selected based on the marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10 + 2 level exam.

Graphic Era University UG Admission 2022: BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA, BHM & B.Sc

At the UG level, the university offers a cluster of UG courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Application and Hotel Management under multiple specializations. Duration of all the Undergraduate programmes is three years.

Candidates must need to hold a 10+2 level degree to get admission in the concerned courses offered by the institute to accomplish the eligibility criteria for UG programmes. Few of the courses demand PCB/PCM in 10+2 level examination. The candidates seeking admission in Information Technology under B.Sc programme need to hold 10 + 2/ Equivalent from a recognized Board / Institution in any stream with minimum 50%.

Graphic Era University offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree at postgraduate level with the duration period of two years.

Graphic Era University M.Sc & MCA Admission 2022

Graphic Era University provides two more programmes at the postgraduate level; those are Master of Science (M.Sc) focusing on the area of Science with multiple specializations and Master of Computer Application (MCA), designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology (computer software). The M.Sc programme is of two years while the duration of MCA is three years.

Candidates must need to hold a B.Sc degree from a recognized university to fulfill the eligibility criteria of Biotechnology and Microbiology. Applicants interested in Information Technology need to hold a graduation degree in relevant discipline for appealing in the concerned course. At the doctoral level, the university offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme under multiple specializations.

Candidates need to hold a Master’s Degree from any AIU/UGC/AICTE recognized University/ Institutions with minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by the University, to be eligible for the concerned course.

Admissions in Ph.D programme is made on the basis of GATE/NET/SLET scores or written test followed by an interview by the Department concerned. Applications for admission to Ph.D programmes in various departments of our university will be invited in the month of May/June of the current year.

The University library, named after a well-known Hindi poet Shri Santosh ananad, is well stocked with around 5300 titles, 72000 volumes of books, a book bank, National Journal and International online Journals as IEEE, ACM, ASME, ASCE, IEEE Proceedings, McGraw Hillebooks. Library is computerized with its OPAC system, bar-coding, identity cards, etc, and uses Libsuite software. There is a separate block in the Library for the staff and students to access internet. Library is also equipped with ebooks, e-journals, e-newspapers, other e-learning resources, computing facility, software’s and other equipments. Segregated sections exist in library for various courses. The Library is fully automated using ERP Software.
