The university was established in 1993 by their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram is also known as SCSVMV University. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya is located at Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. It is a Deemed to be University. The university was established under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust. SCSVMV University is spread over 50 acres of land. The SCSVMV University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). SCSVMV University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
