University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in 2003 by the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. University is accredited by IACBE, NBA, and within A grade by NAAC, and approved by UGC, Bar of India, and Pharmacy Council of India. As per NIRF 2024 Rankings, UPES is ranked 46 in India, 28th in Law, 41 in Management and 42 in Engineering category.

Admission is offered to the candidates into various UG, PG and Ph.D programs. Based on various university level entrance exam called UPESEAT, UPESPAT, UPESDAT, and UPESMET admission will be provided at UPES university. UPES 2025 Application Form

UPES 2025 Eligibility Criteria

General Eligibility:

• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizen/ Foreign national candidates to apply.
• Appearing: Those appearing candidates in final year of qualifying exam in 2025 will also be eligible to apply for admission.

For B.Tech Course:

• Qualification: Applying candidates must pass their secondary and senior secondary examination to apply.
• Marks: Candidates must pass with 50% marks aggregate in qualifying exam, to apply.
• Subjects: In class 12^th level exam, candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
• Board: Candidates must pass with minimum 80% marks in class 10^th & 12^th level to apply. This will be applicable on-board merit only.
• SAT & CUET: Applicants with SAT & CUET scores will be eligible to apply. The SAT cut off will be 50%.
• Scores: Those qualified candidates in UPSEAT/JEE main exam will be eligible to apply. Only applicable for JEE Main merit.

For MBA Courses:

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree holder candidates or equivalent from any recognized university/ institute will apply.
• Marks: Applying candidates must score at least 50% marks in class 10th, 12th & Graduation level.
• Entrance Exam: Candidates with a valid score of UPESMET/ CAT/MAT/ XAT/GMAT will also apply.

UPES 2025 Admission Procedure

Candidates will be able to participate in UPES 2025 admission procedure through online mode. Based on the entrance exam such as UPESEAT, UPESMAT, UPESDAT and UPESPAT for securing 80% of seats.

Another 20% seats will be offered based on various National level entrance exam such as MAT, XAT, CAT, GMAT, JEE Main, CLAT, LSAT, and merit scores. Candidates will have to apply online for admission procedure to get admission into various UG & PG courses in the field of Engineering, Management, Law, IT, etc.

UPES 2025 Entrance Exam

To get admission into various offered courses, university conducted entrance examination at UPES, Dehradun. For B.tech courses, UPESEAT exam is conducted. UPESMET exam is conducted for management courses.

Examination will be conducted by the university to shortlist the candidates. Exam will be conducted through online mode only. Total 2 hours will be given to solve the exam. Qualified candidates in exam will have to participate in counselling session.

UPES 2025 Result/ Merit List

UPES 2025 result will be released through online mode. Candidates will be able to download result from the website. Result will be released individually for every appeared candidates in exam.

University will also prepare a merit list for different courses on the website. Based on the performance of entrance exam, the result will be prepared by the university. A separate merit lit will be prepared for those candidates who appeared in other national/ state level examinations.

UPES 2025 Counselling

UPES 2025 counselling procedure will be organized through online mode. Those qualified candidates in exam will have to participate in counselling procedure. It will be mandatory for shortlisted candidates to participate in counselling to get final admission.

Based on the rank obtained in exam, candidates will attain the rank and shortlisted for admission. On the basis of merit list, seats will be allocated to the candidates. Candidates with a top score in entrance exam will get first preference. There will be Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round in counselling.
