Not long after autonomy, the Christian people group of Changanacherry, understanding the requirement for an instructive foundation for ladies in Central Travencore, passed on their desire to their pioneers. Rt.Rev.Dr.James Kalacherry the then Bishop of Changanacherry, respected the thought entire heartedly and His Excellency established the framework stone for a Women’s College on twelfth August 1949. At first, the school worked as an annexe of S.B. School. In 1950, when the Catholic Church gravely announced the substantial suspicion of the Blessed Virgin as an authoritative opinion of confidence, the name ‘Supposition’ was observed to be suitable for this new ladies’ school, In 1955, Rev. Sr. Xavier S.A.B.S took over as the primary lady Principal of the school and with her the school began working as a free organization. The greater part of Assumption’s scholastic greatness and disciplinary convention can be followed back to her time of productive organization. The Principals who succeeded her mutual her vision and relentlessly clung to Assumption’s optimal of perfection.

It involves extraordinary pride for us that the school that began working nearly as an annexe to St. Berchman’s College in the scholarly year 1950-51, with a quality of 358 ladies understudies has now developed into an undeniable first grade school with in excess of 2000 understudies in the 19 degree courses, 8 Post graduate courses and different courses in the assorted streams.

Girls Hostel

About 900 students share these facilities in the six hostels attached to the College. Residential students are given special training which will prepare them to face life’s challenges by deepening their faith, by creating a sense of discipline, by promoting friendship and geniality, respect and tolerance that is so essential to community living and by developing their talents to their full potential.
Gym

The college has Gym facility for the students.
Library

Archbishop Kavukattu Library was established in the year 1953. The new Library building was inaugurated in the year 1994. It is fully automated. In this library, we use “SOUL” software from INFLIBNET and also use “CAMPUS NET”. All transactions are carried out with it. We create Digital ID cards for the whole college.
Sports

Indoor Court It is a multipurpose stadium where Cultural functions and different prorammes are held. Total capacity of the stadium is about 2000. The Stadium was inaugurated on 15th January 2008 by His Grace Mar Joseph Perumthottam, Patron of the College and Archbishop of Changanassery. Volleyball Court Well furnished Sports Grounds and a full furnished Volleyball Court is available for the effective practice of the sports students. Basketball Court Well furnished Sports Grounds and a full furnished Indoor Basket Ball Court is available for the effective practice of the sports students.
Cafeteria

The College Canteen offers the students quality food at reasonable price. The Cafeteria provide easy access for students seeking to refresh themselves with snacks during short breaks.
Auditorium

The college auditorium, built in 1962, with a 1000 seat capacity is used for small functions in the campus. The Kavukattu Hall has a capacity of 2000 seats and is used for functions involving the whole College.

The college has health center with first aid facility for the students.

IT Infrastructure

The College has four air conditioned and well established Computer Labs for students of B Sc Computer Science, B Com, B Sc Fashion Technology, M Sc Computer Science and M Sc Physics. The facilities of these laboratories are shared by other Departments having Computer Science as optional subject. All Departments have been computerised and the whole campus is provided with network facility.
Laboratorie

Computer Lab The College has four air conditioned and well established Computer Labs for students of B Sc Computer Science, B Com, B Sc Fashion Technology, M Sc Computer Science and M Sc Physics. The facilities of these laboratories are shared by other Departments having Computer Science as optional subject. All Departments have been computerised and the whole campus is provided with network facility. Language lab There is a well equipped Language lab (used for teaching Phonetics and Applied Linguistics) which accommodates fifteen students at a time. It also houses a 29” Television and a VCR. Audio-visual aids are used by students as part of their course work.
Convenience Store

The College Store caters to the academic and non-academic needs of students. Other than text books, stationery and fancy items are available at the store with moderate price tags. Spiral binding facilities and photostat services are also available.
