Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj (MNNIT) is an Institute with complete responsibility to quality and magnificence in scholarly interests. It was built up as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint venture of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was a related school of University of Allahabad, which is the third most seasoned college in India.

For a brief length of two years (2000-2002), the Institute was partnered to U.P. Specialized University. With more than 45 years of experience and accomplishments in the field of specialized training, having crossed far, on June 26, 2002 MNREC was changed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University completely supported by Government of India. With the order of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007(29 to 2007), the Institute has been conceded the status of organization of national significance w.e.f. 15.08.2007.

The Institute had started with offering Bachelor Degree Programs in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. It was the first in the nation to begin an undergrad program in Computer Science and Engineering in 1976-77. In this manner, in the year 1982-83 undergrad programs in Electronics Engineering and Production and Industrial Engineering were started.The first Master’s Program of the Institute was presented by the Mechanical Engineering Department in the year 1966. In all other Engineering Departments, Master’s Programs were presented in the 1970-71. To add another measurement to itself the Institute built up School of Management considers in 1996, which offers a multi year/four semester post advanced education program in Management (MBA).

Boys Hostel

There are seven Boys hostels at present in the Institute. The capacity of boys hostel is 1800 (1044 single seated rooms and 252 triple seated rooms ). Room allotment is done in such a way that students from different parts of country freely intermingle with each other depicting national integration. Geysers and Water coolers with aquaguard on every floor. PCO for STD/Local calls. Books and Stationary shop. 24 hours internet connectivity with 100 Mbps LAN. Guest room. Generator, which in case of power failure provides electricity to the hostels. All night canteen. Magazine and Newspapers are provided. Students club. This is run by students boys hostel. Mess workers are under their control.
Girls Hostel

There two Girls hostels at present in the Institute. The capacity of girls hostel is 145. Room allotment is done in such a way that students from different parts of country freely intermingle with each other depicting national integration. Washing machine. PCO inside the hostel. Generator, which in case of power failures provides electricity to the mess and the common room. Provisional goods store in the hostel premises. Four Computers. Intercom line. 24 hours internet connectivity with 100 Mbps LAN. Water cooler and Geysers. Magazine and Newspapers are provided. Two motor pumps installed. Air cooler and Refrigerator. Stereo system. This is run by students in girls hostel. Mess workers are under their control.
Gym

The college has Gym facility for the students.
Library

The MNNIT Allahabad central library has both – a huge repository of books for references and knowledge assimilation as well as ebooks for or online learning. The library houses more than 1.2 lakh books, 14526 e-journals, and 29508 conference papers with stacks of accessories and reading materials.
Cafeteria

The institute offers exceptional very good eating canteen outlets which are hygienic and reasonable in nature and managed by recognised quality outlets such as Amul India Private Limited and Bikanervala food Private Limited.
Auditorium

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.
Medical/Hospital

The Central Library provides 25 internet connections and wi-fi internet connections to its users and majority of students frequently uses online journals and e-books for their research activities
IT Infrastructure

The institute has high speed internet facility and high performance computing with web services and email based services for both general and advanced purposes with software packages. It is open 24 hours and 365 days in a year with a 10.5 Gbps internet connectivity across the campus area.
Transport

The MNNIT Allahabad transport facility is used by the student to travel to and from within the University Campus as per a time table at every subsidised rate. The students and faculty members will be able to request for drop in and pick up at railway station and bus stand upon early request.
Laboratorie

Laboratory provides facilities for budding researchers and scholars for carrying out independent research in their areas of interest in each department of study such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and CSE. They are also used for multidisciplinary research across several departments of study.
Convenience Store

A Post Office is situated at near to the Colony Gate.
Alumni Associations

The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Banks Facilities

The MNNIT Allahabad provides a good banking facility on campus with all required amenities and ATM services from two banks namely Vijaya Bank near the CAD/CAM lab and State Bank of India near Yamuna Gate.

MNNIT Allahabad Placement

MNNIT Allahabad Placement 2020 drive concluded that out of 1188 eligible students, 757 students got placed under different sectors of the industry. The highest CTC stood at INR. 49 LPA.

The maximum number of recruitments were done from the department of CSE. Under the B.Tech. program, a total of 561 out of 733 students were placed, as for the M.Tech. program, 101 out of 323 students got recruited.

Some of the top recruiters who participated in the 2020 placement drive were- Accenture, DE Shaw, Adobe, Amazon, Byjus, Capgemini, Decathlon, Myntra, Intel, LinkedIn, Infosys, Google, JP Morgan & Chase, Hero, Oyo, IBM, Wells, Uber, Tata Steel, and etc.

MNNIT Allahabad Scholarship

MNNIT Allahabad offers various scholarships some of them are-

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship for B.Tech Students of the Institute-

Under which a scholarship amount of Rs.3000 per student to the Top 10% students of the total sanctioned seats on the basis of J.E.E.(Mains) rank.

Aid to financially weaker students of the Institute-

Those students who are incapable of getting a scholarship from anywhere and their family income is less than INR 1 Lac are provided a scholarship by the Institute itself from the Student Welfare Fund. Every year a target amount of INR 10 Lakh is distributed among the students.
