SSC Stenographer 2020: SSC Stenographer Eligibility & Age Limit
Every candidate must meet the SSC Stenographer eligibility criteria as specified in the SSC Stenographer notification 2020.
Let us look at the important eligibility criteria such as minimum educational qualification and age limit below:
- a) Candidates must be at least 12th pass from a recognized Board or University.
- b) Candidates must be a citizen of India/subject to Bhutan or Nepal or Tibetan/ Burma /Sri Lanka/ Pakistan/East African Countries who relocate to India with the intention of permanently settling in India before 1st January 1962.
- c) A candidate must lie in the age group of 18-27 years to be eligible for SSC Stenographer 2020-21 exam.

SSC Stenographer Notification 2020: SSC Steno Vacancies
The Stenographer 2019-20 vacancies may be increased this year. The tentative vacancies for SSC Stenographer for Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ is expected to be around 1000. The SSC Stenographer 2020 online application will begin from 10th October 2020 and close on 4th November 2020.
SSC Stenographer Notification 2020: SSC Stenographer Application Form & Fee
The SSC Stenographer Notification 2020-21 will be released on 10th October 2020 for Steno Grade C and D Posts. Aspirants can fill the SSC Stenographer application form on or before the last date, i.e. till 4th November 2020. The application fee is Rs. 100/- only for candidates belonging to the General category. Applicants who belong to the Scheduled caste, Ex-servicemen, Persons with disability, and Women candidates are not required to pay any application fees.
How To Apply Online For SSC Stenographer 2020?
SSC Stenographer Application Process consists of three stages namely, ‘Online Registration’, ‘Filling of Application Form’, and ‘Fee Payment’. Check the steps to apply online for SSC Stenographer 2020 from below:
Online Registration
- Visit the official website – ssc.nic.in
- Click on the link ‘Register Now’ present on the right-hand side of the page.
- Enter your basic details such as ‘Name’, ‘Mobile Number’, ‘Email ID’, ‘Date of Birth’, and other necessary details. Submit the details.
- A ‘Registration Number’ and ‘Password’ will be generated and the same will be sent to the registered Mobile Number and Email ID.
Filling of Application Form
- – Log in using the ‘Registration Number’/‘User Name’ and ‘Password’. Change your password after your first Login.
- – Fill the application form with Personal, Educational, Contact, and other details.
- – Upload the scanned copy of your Photograph and Signature in the prescribed formats and sizes.
- – Preview the application form and edit the details if necessary. No changes will be allowed once the application form is submitted.
- – Click on ‘Final Submit’ an OTP will be sent to the Registered Mobile Number and Email ID. Verify the OTP to submit the application.
Fee Payment
- – Choose the fee payment option. Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or in cash at the SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan
- – Once the fee payment is successful, take a few printouts of the filled application form for future reference.
Note: SSC Stenographer fee is only applicable to male candidates belonging to the general category.
SSC Stenographer 2020: SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern
The SSC Stenographer selection process involves two stages. The first stage is the Online Test comprising MCQs. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the Skill Test to test their stenography skills.

SSC Stenographer Notification: SSC Stenographer 2020 Admit Card
SSC Stenographer Admit Card will be released Region-Wise. Aspirants will be able to download the Admit Card for their respective regions by using their Registration ID and Date of Birth. The SSC Stenographer Hall Ticket will be issued to the candidates 3-7 days before the exam.
Please keep in mind that the SSC will not send any hard copy of the admit card by post. The date for SSC Stenographer Admit Card is not yet out and will be updated soon on the official website.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC Steno results for each of the stages separately. Candidates will only get shortlisted for the next round if and only if they clear the previous round.
