WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for WBJEE 2024, candidates need to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria:

1. Nationality

• Candidates must be Indian citizens.

2. Age Limit

• Minimum age: 17 years (as of December 31, 2024).
• Maximum age: There is no upper age limit for most courses. However, for Marine Engineering, the upper age limit is 25 years.

3. Educational Qualification

• For Engineering/Technology Courses:
  • Must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates) in these subjects.
• For Pharmacy Courses:
  • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as subjects.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved category candidates).

4. Domicile Requirement

• To avail of state reservation benefits, candidates must be residents of West Bengal for at least 10 years continuously or their parents must be permanent residents of the state.

WBJEE 2024 Exam Pattern

The WBJEE exam consists of two papers:

• Paper 1: Mathematics
• Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry (combined)

The exam is conducted in offline mode, with multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration for each paper is 2 hours.

Marking Scheme:

• Category 1 questions: +1 for correct answer, -0.25 for incorrect answer.
• Category 2 questions: +2 for correct answer, -0.5 for incorrect answer.

WBJEE 2024 Admit Card
