The English and Foreign Languages University, the first language institute in the country was established to improve the standards of teaching English in the country. The Institute was the brainchild of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The English and Foreign Languages University was first set up in the year 1958 in Hyderabad with the name Central Institute of English and gave training to the teachers of English.
In 1973, The English and Foreign Languages University got the status of ‘Deemed to be University’ and later on in 2006-2007 it was given the status of central university. The English and Foreign Languages University not only focuses on the English language, but it is also dedicated to 10 other foreign languages namely - Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Persian. EFLU was accredited by NAAC in the year 2000 and again it got re-accredited with a grade of ‘A’ in 2006.There is a total of five English and Foreign Languages courses offered across three degrees - BA, MA and MMC. CUET UG and CUET PG are considered for admission to the various UG and PG programmes. As per the latest The English and Foreign Languages University admission notification, CUET results have been declared by NTA on the official website - cuet.samarth.ac.in. On the basis of CUET scores, The English and Foreign Languages University cutoff 2022 will be released.The English and Foreign Languages University houses approximately 25 buildings on 32 acres of land. Later, in the year 1972, April, The English and Foreign Languages University decided to enlarge its scope and include other foreign languages as its course. CIEFL becomes an English and Foreign Languages University in 2007.The The English and Foreign Languages University admission 2023 for UG and PG programmes is based on the candidates performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. Candidates must note that the English and Foreign Languages University CUET 2023 cutoff will be released anytime soon as the results are already out at cuet.samarth.ac.in. To proceed in the counselling process, candidates must fulfill The English and Foreign Languages University cutoff 2023.
Eternal University, Sirmour
Located in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, Eternal University Sirmour is one of the few Girls’ University that offers education in different streams and disciplines. Eternal University Himachal Pradesh has been in offering its services under the charitable organization, Akal Academy.
Eternal University Himachal Pradesh has been accredited by NAAC and has been established under the Himachal Pradesh Private University. There are seven constituent colleges, viz., Akal College of Engineering and Technology, Akal College of Health and Allied Sciences, Akal College of Basic Sciences, Akal College of Agriculture, Akal College of Economics, Commerce and Management, Akal College of Arts & Social Sciences and Akal College of Education.
Himachal’s girl’s only University, Eternal University, aims to educate, train and produce qualified professionals in different fields, who are able to build themselves up to live as responsible human beings in the society. Eternal University has been awarded the 6th position in the infrastructural facility by Higher Education by Higher Education Reviews and 8th in Emerging Universities in India.
Eternal University offers a variety of courses and degrees ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate degrees as well as doctoral degrees, in different fields through its 7 constituent colleges. The University has dedicated its resources towards the education and the empowerment of women through academics and research.
The campus at Eternal University has also been equipped with all the necessary infrastructure and facilities to ensure that the students receive the best education and accommodation. Being a girls’ only university, extra measures have been put in place to ensure that all the students are safe and have access to all amenities within the campus itself through the Akal Yojna Rojgar Shopping Complex.
Eternal University believes in the overall development of a student and therefore ensures that its students take part in extra-curricular activities. Students will be able to take part in sports, NCC and NSS activities as well, during their stay at the University, along with many community outreach programmes, that instils a quality of humanitarianism in the students. To assist the students in their academic aspirations, the university also sponsors and allows the students to take part in international and national conferences. Students will also be experiencing workshops of different kinds, exposing them to academic and educational knowledge in different subjects.
College History
Shri Feroze Gandhi, an able parliamentarian, after seeing the 1957 elections very soon grasped that any parliamentarian cannot rest on his laurels but has to effectively nurse his constituency. He thus looked forward to various opportunities for helping his constituents. The proposal to establish a Degree College was first mooted in a citizens meeting of Rae Bareli on June 22, 1958 and four days later the Trust was established. Soon Feroze Gandhi was approached and he readily agreed to extend his help in the project. He knew the importance of education and the lacuna that existed in Rae Bareli which used to be a very backward district with only a few schools and no institution to provide higher education. He was elected as first President of the Rae Bareli Degree College Education Trust. Getting very much interested in the project after his visit to Rae Bareli in March, 1960, he collected over Rs. 1,25,000/- in a very short period for the college. Through his personal meticulous efforts, the College got affiliation from the Agra University and the Rae Bareli Degree College started functioning on August 8, 1960. The college started its journey with five departments i.e. Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science and Sociology, five teachers and 55 students. In the last phase of his life Feroze Gandhi did not spare any effort for the realization of this goal, he dearly cherished. It was in the fitness of things that the college was renamed as Feroze Gandhi College after his untimely death and is being developed as a befitting homage to the departed leader. The small sapling planted by Feroze Gandhi has now grown up into a huge tree with wide spread branches. The people of Rae Bareli will ever remain indebted to him for his efforts in establishing this temple of learning.- To produce girls professionals equipped with the latest skills to fulfill the challenges of the contemporary world.
