Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat OverviewThe Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat, which is also known as IIIT Surat, is a recently established institute. It was started in Established In : 2017 and is on its way towards becoming an institute of national importance. IIIT Surat was approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development along with nineteen other IIITs to be opened in India. Located in the city of Surat in Gujarat, IIIT Surat aims at providing experts in Information Technology to the nation. It is formed by the Public-TYPE : Private Partnership (PPP) method with the Ministry of Human Resources of the TYPE : Government of India, the TYPE : Government of Gujarat, and industry partners Gujarat Gas, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers and Chemicals, and Gujarat Informatics coming together to form an alliance.IIIT Surat has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and it started with its first academic session from July Established In : 2017. There is not a permanent campus constructed for IIIT Surat yet. It operates temporarily from the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology campus (SVNIT). Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology also mentors IIIT Surat as the college is one of the newest establishments. The faculty of SVNIT trains the students of IIIT Surat so that they get a good start from the experienced professors of a reputed NIT.The primary objective that IIIT Surat caters to is imparting quality knowledge and education to its students so that by the time they graduate, they have in-depth learning about Information Technology and contribute to the growth of the IT sector in India. IIIT Surat offers undergraduate courses to its students and ensures that they receive an education which is in accordance with the newest technological developments in industries. IIIT Surat takes special care to design its curriculum in a way that it meets all the demands that are made by companies and industries that hire IT, specialists.
