Established in the year 1918, DAV College Jalandhar has been amongst the premier private colleges in North India. Guided by the zeal, passion and vision of it’s founding fathers, the college offers a plethora of courses in various disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Food Science, and Technology. The college provides education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

At the UG level, it offers BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BFST, BCA, BBA, and BJMC programs. The BA program has 4 specializations and the B.Sc. programs have 6 specializations in total. Candidates who have secured valid marks in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board are eligible for UG courses.

At postgraduate level, it offers MA in 7 specializations, M.Com in Accounting and Finance, and M.Sc. in 4 specializations. Candidates are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject to apply for PG courses. Moreover, the institute offers PG Diploma in Computer Applications and Financial Services too.

A graduate with 50% aggregate marks can apply for the PG Diploma course. Applications to all the courses are invited in offline mode. Candidates can download the application form from the University website and submit the same at the campus office.

Dav college Jalandhar has been ranked by India Today as 51 for its BCA course and 77 for its BBA course in the year 2019. Additionally, the college has been rated amongst the top 10 institutes of northern India as per a special edition of The Tribune titled ‘Guide To Best Colleges’ in the year 2018.

DAV College Admissions

The admission for all the courses is based on merit and the seats are filled up on a first come first serve basis. The college has already commenced the admissions/registration for the academic year 2020-2021. Due to the current COVID 19 situation, the college has released it’s online registrations forms on it’s official website. No registration/admission would be charged at this moment. The fees would only be charged when the situation normalizes and the college reopens. The online classes for the programs are expected to start shortly and the tentative dates/timetable would be announced soon.

DAV College Placements

The training and placement cell of DAV college is quite dedicated and impressive. The cell provides services like career counselling, training and placement opportunities in the campus. Additionally, the training and placement cell helps the students in multiple ways such as arranging campus interviews, arranging guest lectures, grooming students to face their interviews, arranging seminars and workshops and making maximum efforts to ensure that the students have the necessary skills to be recruited by top notch companies.

To ensure that all the students are updated about the placement opportunities in the college, the college sends SMS updates to the students to notify them about the latest and upcoming placement opportunities in the campus.

In the year 2018 – 19, there were a total of 244 placements in the college. Many notable companies of our country such as Wipro, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Amazon India, TCS, SBI Life, Times of India, CONCENTRIX and many more, recruited students from the college. Apart from the placements, the college offers internships to the final year students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

DAV College Facilities

Library: The library of DAV college is probably the most well-maintained, well-equipped, and up-to-date library in Jalandhar. The library is very spacious and houses a whopping 2 lakh texts, reference books, encyclopedias on a variety of subjects. The library also provides the facility of a digital library which offers more than 3000 E-Journals, 75000 E- books and many other e-resources which cater to the needs of the students. The library also provides the facility of a book bank to benefit the economically weak students.

Cafeteria: DAV college houses 3 well maintained cafeterias across the campus for the faculty, students and staff. The cafeterias are spacious, well maintained and serve a variety of delicious food items so that the students can unwind and relax between their hectic schedules. Everything in the cafeteria is duly taken care of, right from the cleanliness, hygiene, price and quality of the food items.

In house hospital: To ensure proper healthcare for the students, staff and faculty of the college as well as the hostel, DAV college provides the facility of a well structured and well equipped hospital in the premises itself. Hostel: DAV College also provides hostel facilities for it’s outstation students to give them the feeling of home away from home.
