Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2003 by the Ramgarhia Educational Council. The Institute is affiliated to Punjab Technical University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The admission in the courses is both entrance and merit-based. The admission in B. tech is based on JEE Mains score, GMAT in case of M. tech, CMAT for MBA while admission in other programmes is based on merit.

Library: Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology has a well-stocked library with over 28000 books and a separate reading room. The library also has many national and international magazines and journals, reference books, general books, textbooks, and so on.

Seminar Hall: Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology has a fully functional seminar hall that has full audio-visual facilities including a head projector.

Sports Field: The Institute has a 3-acre field equipped with a 400-meter track. The field has a stadium with ample seating area. The Institute has arrangements for various outdoor as well as indoor sports.

Placements

The college is fully aware of having continuous liaison with Corporate Houses and Govt. undertakings for industrial training and for on-campus or off-campus placement of the engineering & MBA students. While keeping this in mind, college has a separate full fledged placement department which consist of twelve placement co-ordinator who works under the able guidance of Dr. Sonpreet Kaur-(Associate Professor MBA)-Training & Placement Officer . The Department maintains information regarding career opportunities for fresh Engineering & MBA Students. It provides information to the out-going students as well as the unemployed old students of this college about the availability of suitable employment opportunities and helps them to communicate with the perspective employers to seek good employment.

The department arranges campus interviews and employment tests periodically with various organizations for the final & pre-final year students to get employed before/immediately after completion the course and to become familiar with employment interviews and tests which they may still have to face in future. The department arranges interviews for the pre-final year and final year students for the direct entry into the Indian Army & Indian Air Force under the University Entry Scheme also.
