Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is a private educational institution situated in Pollachi, Coimbatore District. MCET was established in 1998 to commemorate the 75th Birthday of the great visionary, Arutchelvar Dr N. Mahalingam. The college is affiliated to Anna University, and its courses are approved by AICTE. The college offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Engineering and Technology. It also offers programmes in computer application and research.

Location: Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is located at Udumalai Road, Annamalai Nagar, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. IT is about 54 km away from the Coimbatore International Airport and about 4 km away from the Pollachi Junction and T.N.S.T.C Depot. Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology (MCET) B.E/B.Tech Admission 2022

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology (MCET) offers B.E/B.Tech program in various specializations. In order to finalize the admission, TNEA is conducted by Anna University. Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. The candidates will get the admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 followed by counselling.

Preference will be given to the candidates who have scored good marks in the HSC examination. Candidates will be called for counselling according to the order of their merit. Candidates have to pay INR 5000 (for General) and INR 1000 (for SC/ST) through cash or DD. Application forms for TNEA can be filled offline as well as online.

Note: The college gives admissions on the basis of TNEA counselling conducted by Anna University. Candidates of Tamil Nadu who’ve done HSC from other states are also eligible to apply provided they produce a nativity certificate at the time of counselling.

Admission to ME course at the Institute is provided on the basis of the performance of the candidates in TANCET conducted by Anna University.

TANCET is an offline examination. Counselling will be conducted in the last week of April or first week of May. The counselling fee is INR 5300 (INR 1150 for SC/ST).

For MCA admissions, the candidates should have passed a recognized Bachelor’s degree in any of the following patterns, viz. 10+2+3/4 years Pattern, 10+3 years’ diploma + 3 years Pattern or 10+2 with AMIE.

MCET invites applications during August and February for Ph.D. programs in several streams. Selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination along with the valid GATE, NET or equivalent entrance examination score. The shortlisted candidates will be considered for written test or personal interview (as decided).

Note: Candidate needs minimum 50% marks in Written Test, entrance test, qualifying marks and personal interview in order to be shortlisted for the admission.

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering degree course have to apply for TNEA. The application form can be filled through the website of Anna University.

For B.Tech Program:

For Online Mode: The candidates have to pay INR 500 (general candidates) and INR (reserved candidates).
For Offline Mode: The candidates have to pay INR 700 (general category) and INR 450 (SC/ST and OBC).
After submission of the application form, the candidates will be called for the counselling round on the basis of their marks in graduation.

For M.Tech and MCA:

Application form for TANCET can be downloaded from the official website.
Candidates have to first get registered and then fill the form using Login ID and password obtained during the registration.
Application fee is INR 500 for general category and INR 250 for the other categories.

Interested candidates can apply in the prescribed form to the Principal within 30 days from the date of reopening of admission. MCET Pollachi Facilities

Boys Hostel

A well furnished hostel is available for men separately. It can accommodate 1410 students. Single, double and multi member rooms are available in the hostel. The rooms are well furnished and facilities like fan, tube light, cupboard etc., are provided for the comfortable living to the residents. Vegetarian food, on dividing basis is made available in the mess with modern kitchen and furnished dining hall. Facilities like Internet browsing, Library and Reading room, Medical Facilities, Laundry, Hair Dressing facilities, Inbuilt Canteen, Xerox Centre etc. are available for the convenience of the students staying in the hostel. The Hostel administration is carried out by the Warden with the assistance of a Deputy Warden. Resident proctors are available for guidance and counseling to the students.
Girls Hostel
