Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) is one of the prominent deemed universities of India. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) was established in the year 1984 by Kalasalingam Anandam Charities as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering. The campus spreads over 163 acres and is surrounded by the attractive Western Ghats, which creates a beautiful scenic surrounding around the campus. The KARE became deemed university in 2006. The institute catered to its students’ requirements for thirty-four long years and still provides its best to the students and staff. At KARE students can go through all UG courses, PG courses, and doctoral courses. KARE is the very first university to offer a special B.tech course in engineering for differently-abled students. KARE provides a plethora of facilities to its students in every manner, it has high-end tools for research purposes in all scientific fields. KARE has separate boys’ and girls’ hostel with AC and Non-AC options to choose from. Hostels are big enough to accommodate thousands of students. It has an indoor auditorium, swimming pool, sports grounds and cafeteria with different cuisines. The institute has been ranked 56th in the NIRF 2021 rankings in the engineering category. In NIRF 2021 ranking, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education has been ranked 74th in the overall category. In the university category, it has been ranked 50 in the NIRF ranking 2021 whereas in the NIRF ranking 2020 it was ranked 72 in the same category.
An international standard research facility, INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER (IRC) is also provided to KARE’s students. Established in 2014, this center is well equipped for advanced research in the various fields of material science, computing, and energy. This center consists of 6 research laboratories. KARE was rewarded with DST funding for establishing the National Center for Advanced Research in Discrete Mathematics.
