Subharti University (SVSU) was established under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956, under Swami Vivekanand Subharti Vishwavidhaylaya, Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam, 2008 (U.P. Act No.29 of 2008) passed by Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented by the honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh in September 2008. The University is presently functioning under the auspices of Mahayana Theravada Buddhist Religious and Charitable Trust, Meerut, renowned for its exemplary service in the field of education, healthcare and social welfare.

Selection Process:

Admission is based on merit in 10+2 and entrance exams depending on courses. This is followed by counselling session where seats are allocated to students. But students are required to fulfil pre-requisite mentioned below before applying for course

Boys Hostel

For boys students, the university has 8 hostels located within the campus. Swami Vivekanand Subharti University hostel facilities are indoor games like table tennis, carrom board, study room, wifi etc. Students are provided lunch, breakfast and dinner at the vegetarian mess.
Girls Hostel

The varsity has 8 girls hostels at the campus. The hostels have facilities like 24*7 water supply, wifi connectivity, indoor games, study room etc. A hygienic mess is also there, where food is prepared for the hostlers. The hostels are managed by wardens.
Gym

SVSU Meerut has two gyms. One is dedicated to boys students and the other is for girls students. Each gym has a professional coach to guide students.
Library

The varsity has a centrally air-conditioned library with over 25,000 books, 250 national, 150 international and 400 e-journals for students and faculty members. The library also has internet access, a projector room, seminar room and a reading room. The university library also has a coffee cafe in conjugation with the library.
Sports

SVSU Meerut sports facilities include an Olympic size outdoor stadium for outdoor sports. The stadium has a 400 meters athletic track, cricket ground, football ground, hockey field etc. The university also has indoor badminton courts, a table tennis room and a boxing arena. Students can play these sports during their free time to refresh their minds.
Cafeteria

The university campus has six canteens out of which one is dedicated for girls students. The canteens offer multi cuisines to students and staff members. For snacks and beverages, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University has three dedicated canteens. Hygiene is maintained in all the university canteens.
Auditorium

Mangalya, the university auditorium has a seating capacity of 3000 people. The auditorium is equipped with the latest technology. It is spread over an area of 50 acres. Apart from this, the campus has two more auditoriums which can accommodate around 500 people each. The varsity also has two multipurpose halls, seminar halls for conducting seminars, workshops etc.
Medical/Hospital

A dental hospital and a medical hospital are available at the campus. Both the hospitals have modern equipment. The university also has an ambulance available 24*7 for emergencies.
Wifi

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University’s entire campus has wifi connectivity. Students and faculty members can use the internet easily on their mobile phones or tablets. The wifi is available in hostels as well.

Placements at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut

Placement of students is one of the most important agendas for the university. The varsity has a training & placement (T&P) department to manage Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Placements placements. The training & placement department works as an interface between corporates and students. The aim of the placement department is to ensure maximum numbers of students are placed every year. As a part of the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University placement activities, the placement department organises seminars, mock interviews, industrial visits etc. These activities help students in preparing for the placements in a better and efficient way. Apart from this, various career development programmes are conducted by the placement department to guide students in the right direction. Swami Vivekanand Subharti University placement department has collaboration with several companies like Decathlon, Genpact, Patanjali Ayurveda etc. These collaborations help in reducing the time invested for the job hunt by the students and provides them with a plethora of job opportunities.

As per SVSU Meerut NIRF Report 2019-20, a total of 1031 UG 3 years programmes students were eligible for placements. Out of 1031 students, 288 students got placed and 42 students chose to study further. The median salary offered to them was Rs. 2,42,000 per annum. At Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Placements 2019-20, the maximum median salary of Rs. 12,00,000 per annum was offered to PG 3 Years courses students.
