Pondicherry University is a central university, located in Pondicherry. Established in 1985, Pondicherry university is recognized by the UGC and accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. The university has secured #801-1000 rank in World University category by QS World Ranking 2023.
Pondicherry University offers around 65 programs at PG, PG Diploma, Integrated PG and PhD levels in a wide range of specializations. Pondicherry University admission to most of the programs is done on the basis of merit in the CUET exam followed by the counseling process. Pondicherry University Facilities

- - Boys Hostel
    Pondicherry University has separate hostels for boys. Currently, there are 11 hostels for men students and 1 for foreign students. All the students are told to follow the rules and regulations of the hostel. The University Health Centre offers medical facilities to the students. Apart from the general facilities, students are also offered transport facilities for the mobility of students from hostels to departments, library, computer centre etc.
    Girls Hostel
    To take care of the accommodation needs of the students, Pondicherry University has separate hostels for female students. Currently, there are 5 hostels and 1 for foreign students. Apart from hostel facilities, students are also offered medical and transport facilities to the students residing in hostels.
    Library
    Pondicherry University library is known for its modern infrastructure. The University library has 223082 print resources and 217848 e-resources, 13110 print journals, 18066 e-journals. Library resources can be accessed by OPAC software. The library is fully air-conditioned and wifi enabled.
