SRM Institute of Science and Technology offers admissions to courses in four different levels - Diploma, UG, PG and Doctoral levels. SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai offers admissions to a total of 143 courses. SRM University Chennai or SRM Institute of Science and Technology has a dedicated placement department known as the SRM Career Centre. SRMIST provides the students with placement opportunities and training. Every year, more than 650 companies participate in the SRM University Chennai placement drive. Subharti University (SVSU) was established under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956, under Swami Vivekanand Subharti Vishwavidhaylaya, Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam, 2008 (U.P. Act No.29 of 2008) passed by Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented by the honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh in September 2008.
