CMAT 2021

Common Management Admission Test, also known as CMAT is a national level postgraduate entrance exam pertaining to all management programmes. CMAT 2021 is a online (computer-based) exam of 3 hours comprising multiple choice objective questions. The entrance exam will be tentatively conducted in the last week of January 2021. The application process will probably start in the first week of November 2020, candidates can fill the CMAT 2021 registration form till the second week of December 2020. CMAT 2021 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The CMAT result 2021 will be declared tentatively in the first week of February in online mode along with final answer key. After conclusion of CMAT 2021, NTA will release the preliminary answer key of CMAT. The CMAT scores are required for admission to around 500 AICTE approved B-schools including University departments, constituent colleges, and management institutions across India. As many as 74,672 candidates appeared for the test in 2020. Until 2018, it was administered by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) annually as per the regulations of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India.

CMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The CMAT eligibility criteria will be prescribed by National Testing Agency (NTA). All aspiring CMAT test takers should meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria of CMAT 2021.

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Graduates in any discipline from recognised institutes can apply for CMAT
  • Final year students of Graduate Degree courses (10+2+3) whose results would be declared before the admission procedure starts for the academic year 2020-21 are also eligible for the computer-based online CMAT examination.

Applicants must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for the CMAT 2021 exam. In case they do not fulfill all the eligibility criteria, their candidature will get cancelled during the admission phase. 

CMAT 2021 Application Process

CMAT 2021 application form will tentatively start from the first week of November 2020 and the last date to submit the form will be second week of December 2020.  Prior to filling the CMAT application form 2021, candidates need to register themselves in the web account of NTA by providing their basic credentials. 

The application form could be successfully filled in three simple steps-

  • Filling the online registration with basic credentials
  • Fill up the Application Form; Personal, Academic and Professional details, if any.
  • Payment of Application Fee; Can be paid through Net banking, Debit/ Credit Card, and Cash deposit at SBI Bank.

At the time of registration, candidates should need a valid e-mail id and contact number. While filling the application form of CMAT 2021, candidates need to select the exam date and as many as four test cities as per their preference. Examinees will be allotted test dates and exam centres on first come first serve basis and the allotment will solely depend on the availability of test slots in the choice of exam cities selected during the CMAT 2021 application procedure.

 Image Format & Size

While filling the application form, candidates need to upload the scanned image of their passport size photograph and signature. The below-given points explain the format and size for both.

  • Scanned image of passport size photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb)
  • Scanned image of the signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)

CMAT 2021 Exam Pattern

The exam conducting authority, National Testing Agency (NTA) will prescribe the CMAT 2021 exam pattern. The total duration of the computer-based online CMAT exam will be 180 minutes and it will consist the total of four distinct sections, namely, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness.

As per the CMAT exam pattern 2020, a total of 100 questions are equally divided amongst the four sections (25 X 4 = 100). Each question carries four marks and the maximum score that can be obtained is 400. Each correct answer will fetch +4 marks and each incorrect will be penalised with a negative marking of -1 mark.

CMAT 2021 Admit Card

The admit card of CMAT 2021 will be released by the National Testing Agency tentatively in the the third week of December 2020. The online CMAT 2021 admit card will be available to candidates who will successfully submit the application form before the deadline. Applicants have to download the admit card by entering their login credentials. 

The details to be mentioned on the CMAT admit card 2021 are the following-

  • Candidate’ Name
  • Father’s Name
  • Roll number of candidate
  • Signature and Photograph of the candidate
  • Venue details of CMAT 2021 exam
  • Date and Time of the Test
  • Instructions to be followed during the exam

CMAT 2021 admit card will be the mandatory document to be carried at the exam centre. Without the admit card, candidates will not allowed to appear for the exam.

CMAT 2021 Answer Key

NTA will publish CMAT 2021 answer key along with the questions right after conclusion of exam. Both the answer key and response sheet of CMAT 2021 will be available and can be challenged till the first week of February. Test takers can check the CMAT answer key 2021 by logging into the web account using their login credentials. Candidates will be able to view and print the answer key available on the website and check the correct answers to each question. The answer key of CMAT will help candidates in checking their answers with the correct answer choice thus estimating their scores. It also aids in estimating their admission chances to respective institutions.

Along with the CMAT 2021 answer key, candidates will allowed to file objection, for any disputable answer/response. However, the objections will not be considered without a proper reference document. File size should be less than 1 MB and in .jpg, .png, .pdf format only. The processing charge for filing an objection is Rs. 1000 per question. The same can be paid via debit card/credit card/net banking.

CMAT 2021 Result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release CMAT 2021 result tentatively in the first week of February. Candidates have to login in order to check the CMAT 2021 result and download the scorecard. The scorecard is made available in the form of merit rank which indicates the candidate’s Roll number, Rank and the obtained Score; can be viewed and downloaded by entering the login credentials (ID and Password) already created while registering for the exam. The CMAT result includes candidates’ section-wise and overall secured scores, percentile and All India Rank.

Post announcement of the result, the CMAT 2020 participating institutes will declare their respective cutoff scores, considering the overall result. Only the qualified candidates are eligible to participate in further selection rounds. The selection procedure comprises a Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) or Written Ability Test (WAT). After the completion of selection procedure candidates will be shortlisted for the final admission to all management courses.

CMAT 2021 Cutoff

National Testing Agency will not release CMAT 2021 cutoff to shortlist candidates for the selection procedure; however, the affiliated institutes will declare their respective cutoff after the result gets officially announced. The cutoff of CMAT 2021 is the minimum score or percentile candidates need to obtain for attaining admission into MBA and PGDM programmes offered by management institutes across India. The factors that will determine the CMAT 2021 cutoff are-

  • Total number of candidates appeared in CMAT 2021
  • Number of seats available
  • Number of qualified candidates
  • Level of difficulty pertaining to CMAT exam.

CMAT 2021 Selection Process

National Testing Agency, the new CMAT administering authority will conduct the selection procedure. As per the officials, the participating institutes will conduct their respective selection procedures for the candidates who would obtain the cutoff scores. The CMAT 2021 selection procedure varies within institutes. The selection procedure of CMAT 2021 mostly comprises of GD (Group Discussion), PI (Personal Interview) or WAT (Written Ability Test).
