As per a new notification by IIT Delhi, students having a cumulative grade point of average of 8.00 (out of 10) or above at the end of 6th semester will be offered direct Admissions. Based on the above comparison, there is a vast difference between the lowest JAM score required for admission to IIT Delhi and IIT Guwahati. The opening cutoff rank for getting admission to IIT-D is 3 for M.Sc. in Chemistry and the closing rank for the same was around 79.
Admission to the same is extremely competitive as IIT-Delhi grants admission only to the most top-notch students. To be eligible for admission to IIT Delhi, the candidates must possess a minimum cut-off rank ranging between 1-20.
IIT Delhi offers admission to various streams of the M.Tech program through the GATE score. There are a total of 39 M.Tech. courses offered by the institute. Candidates have to clear the GATE cutoff to be considered eligible for admission.
M.Tech admission will be offered under Direct mode (75% marks in the qualifying degree along with GATE score>= 300) or on the basis of Written Test/ Interview for the student with at least 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech or M.Sc along with GATE score>=300.
The cutoff for the same is on a very high side. The lowest cutoff for general category was 765 for admissions in M.Tech Chemical Engineering in comparison to the minimum cut off score of the previous year, which was around 567.
The minimum score required for admission to the Material Science and Engineering program is 600 or higher. As per the trends observed within the last few years, the minimum score required to get admission in IIT Delhi is 300 for general candidates but, in the case of SC/ST/PH candidates the same drops to 200 to 300.

Even though the minimum cut-off to crack GATE might seem less but the competition is so tough that for CSE, the maximum cut off was of 900. CSE is a popular choice among the candidates.
Based on the data presented in the above-mentioned table, The expected cut-offs for GATE have sky-rocketed. IIT Delhi will probably select only those candidates who score more than a minimum range of 700 marks.
Aside from the M.Tech. programs, M.Des admission will be offered under Direct mode (75% marks in the qualifying degree along with with a CEED score>= 75) or on the basis of Written Test/ Interview for the student with at least 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech or B.Arch along with GATE score>=75.
Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) placements for the 2020-21 batch were inaugurated on December 1, 2020, wherein the students bagged over 300 placement offers including pre-placement offers (PPOs) by the end of the first day.
A number of students had secured multiple job offers, a total of 150 PPOs (including PPOs for international locations) had been offered and 13 students had opted for deferred placements facility.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi had concluded the final placement season for the 2019-2020 batch by surpassing the previous year’s benchmarks with 1100+ job offers to the students from various national and international organizations.

IIT Delhi inaugurated the first phase of its 2020-21 placement drive on December 1, 2020. Within the first day itself, over 300 jobs had been offered to the students and the maximum number of jobs were offered by top recruiters Microsoft, Intel, Goldman Sachs. Over half of its graduates have already been placed under different industries.

This year, the institute witnessed a 4% increase in the number of placements in comparison to the previous year as 85.6% of the undergraduate and postgraduate students got placed at various national and international organizations.
Last year, A total of 767 offers were made from domestic companies. 15 international offers were made to students, 2 of which came from Microsoft itself. This year, 1110+ offers were bagged by the students of IIT Delhi.
The remaining students went forth for higher studies, research, civil services examination, start-ups or got jobs through their own contacts and efforts.
Over 430 organizations had registered for the placement season in the academic year 2019-2020 offering 600+ job profiles.
IIT-Delhi had to re-conduct phase two of its placement drive as several companies revoked their offers. During the pandemic, the second phase of placements continued in an online mode, through which over 100 students bagged job offers.

During the 2019 placement drive, A total of 767 offers were made from domestic companies.

Out of 782 offers, 700 were unique as some students also got multiple offers from different companies.
Microsoft made 30 offers which were followed by Societe Generale with 13 offers. Mastercard and Standard Chartered made 11 and 10 offers respectively.
During the 2020-2021 academic year, IIT Delhi hosted its Summer Placement drive online due to the pandemics, wherein over 230 students received more than 300 offers, some students even bagged multiple internships offers as well.
The institute inaugurated its Summer Placement drive on September 6, 2020, for the second and third-year students for the four-year BTech courses as well as those in the fourth year of five-year dual degree programs. The Institute received several international training offers from Hong Kong, South Korea, and the US.
More than 150 organizations registered for the internship hiring season which is still in progress. The final phase would begin in January 2021.
