UPSC will release CDS (I) 2021 notification on Oct 28. Interested candidates can fill the application form till November 17, 2020. 

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release CDS (I) 2021 notification on October 28, 2020. The application form will be released along with the notification. Interested candidates can fill the application form till November 17, 2020. The written exam of CDS (I) 2021 will be conducted on February 7, 2021.

CDS exam is conducted to select candidates for Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Officers’ Training Academy (OTA).

To be eligible for the exam, candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

Age and Marital Status

For IMA: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1998, and not later than January 1, 2003, are only eligible.

For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1997, and not later than January 1, 2003, are only eligible.

For Air Force Academy: Candidates must be between 20 to 24

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men):  Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1997, and not later than January 1, 2003, only are eligible.

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course): Candidates must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1997, and not later than January 1, 2003.

Educational Qualification

For IMA and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai: Candidates must be a graduate from a recognised university or equivalent.

For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in engineering from a recognised university.

For Air Force Academy: Candidates must have a degree from a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at class 12) or Bachelor of Engineering.

The steps to fill CDS (I) application form are given below.

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on the Part-I registration link
  • Enter personal details, address and educational qualification
  • Choose the preferred branch
  • On successful registration, the registration ID will be generated
  • Login with the registration ID and password to fill Part-II application form
  • In Part-II, candidates need to pay the application fees, select CDS exam centre and upload the required images
  • Submit the application form
