CMAT 2021: Tips and Shortcuts to crack Quantitative Technique & Data Interpretation section

The difficulty level of this section of CMAT exam is usually high, but if you are strong in Maths, scoring well in this section is not too difficult. Keep the following tips in mind while preparing for Quantitative Technique & Data Interpretation section of CMAT 2021.

This section of CMAT exam is usually dominated by Quants question. Data Interpretation questions are usually limited to 4-6 based on Table.
Within the Quants section, most of the questions are from Arithmetic. Last year, there were 10 Arithmetic questions out of 25. So, pay special attention on Arithmetic during exam preparation.
Spend a good amount of time in gaining clarity of concepts, formulae and theorems, even if you’ve studied Maths in graduation. This is the base of proper CMAT preparation.
After studying a topic, solve a few sample questions. This will help you understand application of the theory studied just before.
Solving sample questions will also help you assess whether you have understood the topic or not.
Both Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation sections are calculation based, there is nothing intuitive about them. So, adequate practice of questions is a must.
Solve CMAT mock tests, sample papers and previous years question papers to familiarize yourself with a variety of questions based on Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation.
Sample paper booklets for practice are also available in the market. Solve them to gain control over tough topics.
In the last one month before CMAT 2021, start solving mock tests on alternate days. After every mock test, assess your performance and score to know what your weak points are.
