MAT exam is conducted in three modes – Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT). While CBT and PBT are conducted at designated exam centres, the IBT mode is a test which the candidates can take from home on any desktop or laptop with camera.
To be able to take the exam, candidates have to follow certain guidelines made by AIMA for prevention of cheating and other mal practices. More guidelines have been introduced for MAT exam due to COVID-19 pandemic. For example, this year, the candidates not only have to present the MAT admit card and photo ID at the exam centre, but also a self-declaration form saying they are not suffering from coronavirus or related symptoms.
MAT 2020 is scheduled to be held on October 3 in PBT mode. Check below some important MAT 2020 exam day guidelines, i.e. the dos and don’ts that will prevent any unnecessary hassle for the candidates on the exam day.
MAT Exam Day Guidelines - Dos
Different reporting time is being given to every student to ensure physical distancing. Reach the MAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned your admit card.
Carry a colour print out of your MAT 2020 admit card, along with a photo ID. MAT admit card can be downloaded from the official website until the exam day. However, it is advised that candidates download their admit cards before hand to check for errors and rectification of the same (in case any).
It is mandatory for all the test takers to carry a valid photo identification proof. Check below a list of documents, considered as valid photo id proof for the test day.

Aadhaar card
PAN card
Driving license
Employer ID card
College ID card
The self-declaration form will be issued along with the MAT admit card. The candidates have to download it, fill the particulars and self-attest it. All these documents will be checked at the MAT exam centre entry gate.
Due to COVID-19, the candidates have to wear a face-mask before the entry and throughout the exam.
They are also required to carry a hand sanitizer and drinking water in a transparent bottle.
The candidates are required to maintain physical distance from each other and the staff at all times.
At the entry gate, the exam staff will test each candidate’s temperature. Those found to have higher body temperature than normal will not be allowed to take the test.
If a candidate is accompanied by their parents or friends to the MAT 2020 exam center, they should hand over all the personal belongings including bags, mobile phones, watches, books, wallets, electronic gadgets, notebooks, etc. to them.
Candidates appearing for MAT PBT exam need to carry their own stationery items that include black/ blue ballpoint pen.

After security frisking, invigilator will sign the admit cards of the test takers. No test taker should sign on their admit card before this process.
Candidates should avoid any kind of unfair practices inside the exam centre. In case, any candidate is found to break any code of conduct, they will be strictly penalized
Carrying any rough sheet/sheets inside the exam hall is strictly prohibited. For PBT mode exam, students will be provided OMR sheets to answer all the questions
Do not create problems for the staff at the time of identification. Cooperate with them. You may be barred from the exam for unruly behavior
Do not take off your mask or break any physical distancing rule
Do not go to the MAT exam centre if you are feeling unwell or have fever, cough, cold, headache
