Nursing Entrance Exam 2020: List of Top Nursing Exams in India

Graduation in Nursing after the Class 12 exam is considered a lucrative and respectable profession in India, not only for women but also for the males. The rapid and advanced change in the healthcare and medical industries, the Nursing profession promises to be a successful career option these days. Candidates who aspire to make their career in the field of Nursing can refer to this article to know everything about the Nursing and its related exams to start with.

Candidates can pursue a career right after their Class 12 by pursuing graduation in Nursing. Candidates at different levels can pursue programmes ranging for UG and PG level. Various eminent universities in India offer the below-mentioned programmes in Nursing:

• BSc Nursing
• BSc (Post-Basic) Nursing
• MSc Nursing

To start with the BSc Nursing course or Bachelor of Science in Nursing is one of the most chosen courses by the candidates, right after the completion of their Class 12. BSc Nursing is a four-year professional course. To pursue BSc nursing, the candidates should have minimum eligibility criteria that is having completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the mandatory subjects. Interested candidates can get admission into the BSc nursing program by appearing in several entrance exams held between March and July every year.

The next programme is BSc (Post-Basic) Nursing is a two year long programme designed to enhance nursing skills of the professionals having a background in nursing or a similar field. Thus, Post-Basic BSc Nursing is more of a specialization course in Nursing. The aspirants should have completed Class 12 having Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects along with a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and should be Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM).

At the Masters level, candidates can pursue MSc Nursing course in order to have a core specialization in the branch of their interest such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Cardio-Thoracic Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Operation Room Nursing, Oncology Nursing Dialysis Technology and Neonatal Nursing. Interested candidates should be a BSc/BSc (Hons) graduate in Nursing from a recognized university in order to pursue the programme.

• AIIMS Nursing 2020

AIIMS nursing 2020 exam will be conducted by the examination section of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. AIIMS nursing 2020 allows admission into BSc (Hons) Nursing, BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) and MSc Nursing programmes. AIIMS in its recent notification has released the examination schedule for session 2020-21. Candidates were able to apply from December 12 for UG and December 13, 2019 for PG courses, respectively. The last date of AIIMS nursing 2020 registration was January 16, 2020. AIIMS has conducted the national level entrance exam for the BSc (Post-Basic) Nursing and MSc Nursing programmes on June 11, 2020. AIIMS has announced the results on June 19 and June 20, 2020 respectively. For BSc (Hons.) Nursing 2020, the conducting body is yet to announce the exam dates. 

• PGIMER Nursing 2020

PGIMER Nursing 2020 exam, which is conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh every year. PGIMER nursing 2020 examination is conducted to facilitate admission into nursing programmes at Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) level such as BSc, Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing programmes. PGIMER had started inviting the PGIMER Nursing applications for 2020-21 session for admissions to MSc Nursing 2020 exam from April 18, 2020 to May 18, 2020. The MSc Nursing entrance exam was held on June 22, 2020, and the result of the same was announced on July 1, 2020. The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2020 entrance is scheduled to be held on July 28, 2020, and the application process for the same was concluded on June 20, 2020. 

• CMC Ludhiana BSc Nursing 2020

CMC Ludhiana BSc nursing 2020 exam is a national level entrance exam, anyone across India can apply, conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society. The college is affiliated by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab; the Government of Punjab. The college is approved by the Punjab Nurses Registration Council and Indian Nursing Council. The CMC Ludhiana BSc Nursing 2020 exam is held every year to facilitate admission in to four year BSc nursing course. The CMC Ludhiana will start accepting CMC Ludhiana BSc nursing 2020 application forms tentatively in the fourth week of May.

• Indian Army Nursing 2020

Indian Army BSc Nursing 2020 is a national level entrance exam which facilitates admission in to four year BSc nursing course. The exam will be conducted by the DGMS or the Directorate General of Medical Services (Indian Army) and only female candidates will be allowed to apply. Indian Army BSc Nursing 2020 application process was started from November 14, 2019 and applicants were allowed to submit the duly filled online application forms till December 2, 2019. The exam stands postponed in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak till the further notice and was earlier scheduled to be held in the fourth week of May 2020. 

• JIPMER Nursing 2020

JIPMER Nursing 2020 exam is conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry to facilitate admission to BSc Nursing programme. The JIPMER Nursing 2020 application form has been now postponed in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak till the further notice. The application was scheduled to be available from April 21, 2020 and last date to apply was May 20, 2020 which now stands deferred.

• KGMU Nursing 2020

KGMU Nursing 2020 is a State level entrance exam which facilitates admission in to four year BSc nursing course. The exam will be conducted by the King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. KGMU Nursing 2020 application process is ongoing and has started on June 15, 2020. Candidates will be able to apply for the same till August 10, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the application process was delayed. The KGMU Lucknow has now announced the dates of events. The State level entrance exam is now scheduled to be held on August 30, 2020. 

• RUHS Nursing 2020

RUHS Nursing 2020 exam is a gateway for admission in various nursing courses in nursing colleges across Rajasthan. RUHS 2020 nursing is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, and is conducted online. RUHS offers courses in BSc, Post Basic BSc and MSc Nursing. The application process tentatively begins in the second week of September each year. The last date to apply will be in the first week of October 2020.

• BHU Nursing 2020

BHU Nursing 2020 entrance exam is conducted by the Institute Medical Sciences (IMS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and is a national level entrance exam for admission in College of Nursing Institute of Medical Sciences and RGSC campus. Candidates who wish to appear for the entrance exam can apply online on official website bhu.ac.in. IMS BHU which is the conducting body has started accepting the BHU BSc Nursing application forms from June 23, 2020 and will allow the candidates to apply by July 23, 2020. 

• Jamia Hamdard  Nursing 2020

Jamia Hamdard’s School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (Rufaida College of Nursing) is the institute of department which offers various courses at diploma, graduation and post-graduation level in the field of Nursing. Jamia Hamdard 2020 Nursing exam online registration and application process had started in the month of April 2020. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the Jamia Hamdard University. All the programmes in Nursing offered by Jamia Hamdard University (diploma, degree, postgraduate degree and doctorate) are recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

 The above exams are some prominent entrance exams for Nursing programmes.
