UPSC question paper 2020 was released on the official website of UPSC on October 5. The official UPSC question paper was uploaded one day after the IAS prelims 2020 exam. The UPSC question paper is uploaded online in the PDF. The candidates who did not appear in the UPSC prelims 2020 exam can see the UPSC question papers here as well.

The UPSC question paper 2020 followed the standard of the yesteryears. The difficulty level of the question paper was moderate. Some questions were moderated and few questions were difficult. The candidates found the UPSC CSAT paper (aptitude) paper easy to answer. The comprehensions were short; the maths questions were easy but time taking and the reasoning questions were of moderated difficulty.

UPSC cut off will not be impacted by the low absent ratio in the UPSC prelims 2020. The reason is that the number of applicants in the UPSC exam 2020 were over ten lakhs. This is a normal figure and every year almost similar figures are found. Every year, almost 50% of candidates do not appear in the exam because of the fear of wasting of attempt. So the real competition is always among the top fifty thousand candidates who prepare well and are well versed with the structure of the prelims paper. This year also the competition will remain the same because the candidates who prepared well did not leave the exam.

The UPSC prelims 2020 exam was conducted across the country at over 2500 exam centres. Some exam centres were well managed and took all the precautions for the COVID-19 infections. But there are media reports about some UPSC exam centres did not make arrangements for the instructions given by UPSC. There were a high number of absentees at various districts. As per the media reports, only 44% of candidates appear in Lucknow district. UPSC has issued no official figures in this regard.
