Col. D.S. Raju Polytechnic college, East Godavari OverviewNamed after a renowned person, Colonel D.S. Raju, the first FRCS in the state and a freedom fighter who worked in the Central Cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru and the personal Physician of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Col. D.S.Raju Polytechnic came into existence in 1981 in the native village of the above illustrious person, Poduru village of West Godavari District with the funds acquired by the Medical Education Society (Regd.) of Kakinada through compensation following the TYPE : Government’s takeover of the reputed Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada established by the above society founded by Col.D.S.Raju.  Started with only two branches, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in its incipient period, the Polytechnic introduced three more branches namely Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering in the years 1984, 1996 and 1997 respectively.  However owing to lack of admissions, Civil Engineering had to be wound up in the Polytechnic  and  a Second Shift is also introduced from the year 2008 and the Polytechnic is running successfully for the last 33 Years with Four Branches.There are Well Experienced and Qualified Teaching Faculty in the Polytechnic to teach all the Technical and Non Technical Subjects Effectively under the Esteemed Guidance of Both  Experienced Principals Sri.G.Shankar Rao, M.Tech., and Sri.E.V.Prasad, M.Sc., M.Phil., for 1st  and 2nd Shifts respectively. There are adequate number of Spacious Class Rooms, Laboratories with Necessary  Latest Equipment, Drawing Halls, Seminar Hall and Hygienic Gymnasium  with latest Equipment in the Polytechnic which were scattered in an areas of nearly 10 acres of land.  There are nearly 220 computer systems, which were placed in Four Laboratories with A.C. facility.  Internet facility is also provided with High speed Internet to Train up the Students in all aspects.  B.T.
