The university was established in 1993 by their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram is also known as SCSVMV University. Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya is located at Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. It is a Deemed to be University. The university was established under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust. SCSVMV University is spread over 50 acres of land. The SCSVMV University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). SCSVMV University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). SCSVMV University offers UG and PG courses in streams such as engineering, computer, commerce, arts, education, design and science, etc. The SCSVMV University UG and PG are B.E /B.Tech, B.C.A, B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.A, B.A., B.Ed, B.A.M.S, M.C.A, M.E /M.Tech., M.A., M.Sc., M.B.A, M.Phil. and M.Com.

SCSVMV B.E/B.Tech Admission 2022

SCSVMV offers Full-Time, Part-Time as well as Lateral Entry for B.E./B.Tech. Course to which admission is done through ERA (Uni-Gauge)/ SCSVMV (AISEEE) or JEE followed by counselling. The Departments also provide Honours/Minor Degrees in various Major Disciplines.

ERA Uni-Gauge Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 180 MCQs (60 each for Physics and Mathematics) for the duration of three hours. Students have to answer the questions in English. One-marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

SCSVMV UG Admission 2022: B.Ed, BA, B.Sc, BCA, BAMS, B.Com And BBA

The university provides non-technical UG courses along with specializations in various courses. BA/BBA/B.Com/B.Sc are of 3 years duration whereas B.Ed is of 2 years and BAMS is of 5.5 years. Admission to all the courses is based on Merit only. BAMS is the only course to which admission is through NEET scores .

Note: Candidates who have passed Prak Sastri from any recognized board are also eligible to apply for BA (Sanskrit). The university strongly promotes higher education in Sanskrit and therefore, offers a stipend to the day scholars whereas free accommodation facility to those who seek admission in Sanskrit courses.

SCSVMV ME And M.Tech Admission 2022

The university offers both Full-Time and Part Time courses for M.E. . Part-Time course duration is 3 years whereas Full-Time course duration is 2 years. Admission to M.E/M.Tech is based on the merit based on GATE scores.

SCSVMV MBA Admission 2022

SCSVMV offers Full Time MBA program with Dual Specialization in various disciplines. Admission to MBA is based on the National Level Entrance Exams i.e. CAT/XAT/JMAT/ATMA/MAT or the entrance exam conducted by SCSVMV.

SCSVMV MA, M.Com, M.Sc And MCA Admission 2022

The university offers admission to MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MCA (Regular(3 years), Lateral(2 years)) courses with different specializations at PG level. All the courses are of 2 years duration. The admission to the courses offered is based on Merit Marks of the Qualifying Exam conducted by the University. Relevant UG degree from a recognized University is the minimum eligibility to apply for the courses.

SCSVMV M.Phil. And Ph.D. Admission 2022

SCSVMV offers M.Phil and Ph.D programs in various disciplines at Doctorate level with 4 Research Centres. Duration of M.Phil is 1 year whereas Ph.D(Full-Time) takes 3 years and Ph.D(Part-Time) takes 4-6 years. Candidates must have a valid Masters Degree of the relevant Discipline with 55% aggregate from a recognized university to be eligible to apply for the course. Admission to M.Phil is based on the Merit of the Qualifying exam and Ph.D admission is given on the basis of Written test followed by Interview for both M.Phil and Ph.D.

Document Required

Candidates who will be qualified in the entrance exam will be called for counseling. Counseling Dates will be announced by the University. The following documents have to be submitted by the university at the time of counselling.

Boys Hostel

SCSVMV University facilities include separate hostel facilities for boys. SCSVMV University provides students with safe and secure accommodation for a comfortable stay. The boys’ hostel has all the necessary facilities.

Library

The SCSVMV University library was established in 1995 and is located in the Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Diamond Jubilee Mahal. The library is spread across an area of 4640 square metres and is divided into three levels, provides an excellent environment for meditation and research. Through lending, the library helps to support teaching, learning, and research. There are approximately 163933 books, current periodicals, and an expanding range of electronic services, including over 3000 CD ROMS, available for reference and enquiry. The library dedicates a worthy collection of books to the IT World and subscribes to over 224 specialised national and international journals.
There are separate facilities available in the library for students such as Web OPAC, National Digital Library (NDL), e-PG Pathashala, Consortium for educational communication, Public Library of Science (PLOS), AICTE suggested books for UG and PG courses, e-journals subscribed, e-books and open-source journals.

Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Vivekananda Kendra, Indian Dental Association, Patanjali Yog Samiti, Thyro Lab, Global Laboratories and Apollo Pharmacy are the healthcare associates of the SCSVMV University medical centre. Major facilities available in the medical centre are a dispensary, dentistry, record room, Ayurveda consultation, laboratory, Allopathy consultation, daycare ward for male students, daycare ward for female students, store room and a Bhajan hall.

Alumni Associations

Alumni association was established on 06-05-2009 and first Alumni meet was held on the same date. Eighty eight students of both 2007-08 and 2008-09 batches attended the alumni meet. The meeting was commenced at 10.00 AM and was lasted up to 3.30PM. Office bearers for the alumni association were elected in the meeting and the by-laws of the association were finalized. It is decided that the alumni should meet at least once in a year in the Multi-purpose Hall of the School of Education. In the inaugural session Prof.K.V.S.N.Murty, Head School of Education, Sri.V.Swamynathan, Placement coordinator of the university, Dr.K.Ramakrishna Reddy, Librarian, Prof.K.Srinivasu, HOD, ECE spoke on the occasion. We can proudly say that the SOE is the first department in the whole university to start the alumni association
Banks Facilities

SCSVMV University facilities and infrastructure include a bank. On the university campus, Indian Bank has a full-fledged branch at Enathur. All major nationalised banks have branches in Kanchipuram town (approximately 5 kilometres from Enathur), and ATM services are also available.
