IIT Bombay will release GATE 2025 cut off soon after the release of result in the month of March 2021. For all 27 papers, separate GATE cut off will be released which will also vary from subject to subject and for each category. GATE cut off is the minimum marks that you need to score to qualify the exam. Since the exam will be conducted in multiple sessions with different difficulty levels, the normalization method will be used for GATE Score Calculation.
The participating institutes will decide their own cut off to select the candidates for a course. Other than M.Tech admissions, students who score marks higher than GATE cutoff are often recruited into highly paid jobs offered by many PSUs. GATE Scorecard will be issued to only those candidates who score equal to or more than the qualifying cut off of GATE 2025.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination which is conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech) and direct PhD admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other institutes/universities across India. It also opens the gateway to booming Public Sector Undertaking Companies (PSUs) and in the field of research. Some of the PSUs and research organizations which use GATE score for providing jobs include ONGC, NTPC, GAIL, HPCL, PGCIL, BHEL, BSNL, NHPC, BARC, DRDO, etc.
GATE is an All-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising of faculty members from IISc, Bangalore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.

Aspirants must not get confused between GATE rank and score. Suppose a student who gets marks around 67 and GATE score around 810 is likely to get rank near 170 in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Similarly, a candidate expecting the rank under 1000 has good chances of getting into a preferred branch in NITs. Although, a student must prepare for an interview and GD in order to proceed in the admission process.

GATE 2021 cutoff for each paper depends on various factors mentioned below:
Ans. You need to clear the qualifying cut off first. Based on the mechanical engineering qualifying cut off for previous years that if a candidate belongs to the general category then he need to score around 34 to clear the minimum cut off. After that IIT Bombay will decide its own cut off during the time of counselling.
Ans: The authorities have released JEE Advanced Qualifying cut off on October 5, 2020. All the qualifying candidates will be considered eligible to take admission to IITs and can participate in JEE Advanced counselling process.
Ans. No. There is no sectional cut off that you need to qualify. Candidates qualifying the overall cut off can apply for the counseling process.
Ans. If we check the qualifying marks of the previous year for all the disciplines then we can see that candidates need to score more than 25 marks. Therefore it can be said that the qualifying cut off for new subjects could also above 25 marks.
Ans. The qualifying marks for GATE 2021 are not released yet. However, whether you have qualified in the examination or not, will be known only after the release of the result.
