The institute came into existence with a generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. At that time IARI Delhi was known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) and it was functioning in Bihar. Later on in the year 1911 the name was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research and then again it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute in the year 1919. The institute was relocated to Delhi in the year 1936 and post-independence it was renamed to Indian Agricultural Research Institute. IARI Delhi got the status of a Deemed University in the year 1958.
The institute has been accredited by the NAAC and has been recognised by the University Grants Commission. With a total student enrollment of 289, the institute has a faculty strength of 28 members. The campus size of IARI Delhi is 1250 acres and it has several facilities such as hostel, sports, labs etc. for the students. Integral University Lucknow was established in the year 2004 under the Act Number 9 of 2004 by the State Government. Integral University Lucknow is approved by the Medical Council of India, Pharmacy Council of India, Indian Nursing Council, Council of Architecture, Bar Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapists, National Council for Teacher Education, UP State Medical Faculty and Distance Education Bureau. Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology Guna (JUET) was established in 2010 on 29th April. JUET Guna is a private university established in Madhya Pradesh under the provisions of MP Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam. Initially, JUET Guna was established as Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology in the year 2003 based on the MOU signed between Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (a not-for-profit trust ) and the Government of Madhya Pradesh and was established as a private state university in 2010.
