Institute of Rural Management Anand was established in 1979 by Dr. Verghese Kurien as an autonomous institute. it is also known as IRMA Anand. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. The institute is also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). IRMA Anand is spread over an area of 60 acres of land. As per the official website, the mission of the college is to promote the sustainable development of rural people through its professional management courses.
IRMA Anand P.G.D.M Rural Management programme is recognised as equivalent to a master degree in Rural Management by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Furthermore, it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute offers courses in the field of management. The courses offered by the institute are P.G.D.M Rural Management, Executive P.G.D.M Rural Management and Fellow Programme in Rural Management. All courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admission to the courses is as per the college admission process. The total number of faculty members at the Institute of Rural Management is 31 and the total number of students enrolled is 482. Thus, the student-teacher ratio at IRMA Anand is 16:1. The institute also has many clubs, committees and societies.
Many facilities like boys hostel, girls hostel, library, guest room, wi-fi, auditorium, classrooms, medical clinic, sports, gym, etc are provided by the Institute of Rural Management. The college also has a placement cell. The placement cell also conducts guest lectures, seminars, workshops, industrial visits, etc. IRMA Anand provides many scholarships to students.
